Ratheist's epic win is analyzed by an internet psychologist. OP seems really angry at Beanie Babies-maybe this is something we should devote some time to? (np.reddit.com)

>It is actually a very creative and humorous way to defend against a passive-aggressive assault designed to make people think paying is cute.
/r/atheism .... very creative
"Passive aggressive assault"
Dear god, someone is taking things way too seriously.
The thing I don't get about /r/atheism is that "ignore it when it doesn't affect you" is considered bad advice.
How the crap is the solution to a "passive aggressive assault" ^1 being even more passive aggressive.
^1 I really don't think someone having praying beanie babies is passive aggressive.
> "ignore it when it doesn't affect you" is considered bad advice
yes, apathy is bad advice
It sure is when the problem is civil rights abuses or genocide.
But praying bears? Oh Jesus give me a break. Beanie babies praying is one, two or even a million steps down the importance ladder from things where apathy is bad.
It's an attitude, you either give a shit or don't give a shit. It's a way of thinking that you can cultivate or undermine.
Its a goddamn doll.
It's a goddamn piece of paper on a wall.
Yes, but were talking more about being petty enough that goddamn doll bother you enough to make a passive aggressive sign, over god damn dolls. Ain't nobody got shot.
Nothing is too petty for ratheists.
> Ain't nobody got shot.
You get the sense that they all feel like it could be the natural evolution of things, though. Today, praying beanie babies in someone's cube, tomorrow, they come for my guns and give me a bible instead, the day after that, death by firing squad. I'm just taking action now before the inevitable.
I don't see an issue with a proportionate response, neither on an office game level, nor on an emotional level, i.e. having some fun instead of stewing in irritation.
We're more talking about actually being irritated people have fucking dolls.
I'm desperately trying to think of what a coworker would have to have up in their cubicle before I would consider caring enough to go out of my way to be passive aggressive about it.
And I really can't. Anything bad enough I wouldn't handle myself, anything not worth talking to the boss over isn't worth a passive aggressive note.
It's a stuffed animal. It didn't punch your dog.
I feel like golliwogs would be my line in the sand.
I think it would have to be something horrifically racist or, even worse, Ctrl+Alt+Del cartoons.
Picking your battles is great advice.
