Lesbian OP was hit on by a guy in the bar, when she explained the situation, he set her up with his hot lesbian doctor sister. One commenter jokes she should "take one for the team" and fuck him to say thank you. Reddit responds... poorly. (np.reddit.com)

Argh, what is wrong with people?
I would say the main issue is they consider sex (and by extension, women) a commodity to be traded for.
Edit: I am aware this was a joke, that doesn't mean the opinion I mentioned isn't common on Reddit.
Shit, does that mean I have to leave my wife now? I've been extra helpful around the house since we had our baby. I do almost all of the house work (inside and out) and I get up early and stay up late on weekends so she can catch up on her rest/sleep while she recovers from her c-section (6 weeks recovery time. Some recover faster...she hasn't).
She's taking 12 months paid maternity leave so she does most of the baby stuff during the day during the week and she breastfeeds overnight so there's really nothing I can do about that, and that allows me to get rested so I can focus at work, although I do bottle-feed him through the night on the weekends (she prefers to do it most of the time for bonding, baby's health reasons, etc.). She's never asked me to do anything extra, it's just that I'm the only able-bodied person around the house right now, so as a responsible person and husband I've stepped up and done what any reasonable partner would do.
Tonight is our first night without the baby - he's staying with the in-laws - so I have a nice dinner and a romantic evening planned and now that we know she's able to have sex again, we're planning on our first night of "non-quickie-let's-see-if-it-still-hurts" sex in about three months. As I said, she never specifically asked me to do anything extra, and in no way would I ever expect any kind of reward for what I'm doing. I've been laid up in the past and she's done everything around the house, so for us, it's just what we do for each other.
Anyway...on to my actual point...she (in a very sexy way, with a very sexy picture) texted me this morning while I was driving to work and suggested that as a thank you, she was going to "show her appreciation and make sure I was extra happy tonight." I sent her a sexy reply of my own and we've been teasing each other all day in anticipation of tonight. It's 2:00 PM here right now and the baby is already out of the house and we're both champing at the bit to get at each other but now you've got me thinking...is she just bartering with me? Is she using me to do her bidding around the house in exchange for her satisfying my uncontrollable male needs?
I really don't know what to do now. Should we go with a trial separation first, or should I go straight for the jugular and hire a lawyer to draw up the divorce papers so I can get them on the way home from work and drop them on the table as soon as I walk in the door (instead of cooking the cedar-smoked salmon dinner we had planned on)? I leave at 4 PM so please make sure you reply before then so I know how to proceed. Either way, there's no fucking way I'm letting my wife think she can trade sex for work around the house. I don't know what I was thinking, so thank you for opening my eyes.
edited for readability.
Would read again 10/10
Haha thanks, I guess.
Is there a rise in people writing copypasta material in SRD now? I like the trend but first it was /u/andr3wsky and now its everyone.
Yoh tried this hard...for 6 points...embarrassing
Sex is often a commodity that is traded for. shrug
I'll take three sexes please.
It can be, but I would say the majority of the time when someone is thinking about sex they aren't thinking of the barter system.
It guess they long for the days where some land and some livestock would get you a bride.
The original comment, >well technically you do have the requisite equipment to hook him up, i think you should take one for the team here.
was obviously a poor taste, juvenile joke, the kind that doesn't usually go over well on the internet with people you don't know and can't see and clearly not a lot of people thought was funny. I think your projecting more than a little here.
Pretty sure the comment was in jest.
No. There is no joking about sex on reddit. It's either rape, dehumanizing, infantilizing, or rape. End of discussion.
You forgot objectification and fetishizing.
So I did. Good catch.
This is one of the most refreshingly accurate things I've read all day, cheers.
I like rape
Edit: inb4 someone misses the blazing saddles reference.
You can have sex with someone besides a woman. How come you're making it about one sex/gender? That's a bit sexist of you, isn't it?
they grew up watching porn
I have to say my years delivering pizza also greatly impacted my desire to ever be a plumber or get a tutor....
as a part time foreign language tutor, im disappointing in all the times a lesson didnt break down into an orgy
The only thing stopping me from asking my pizza delivery guy to put his dick in a hole in the pizza is my lactose intolerance. Also that stops me from ordering pizza. Life isn't fair.
It's just a joke.
It was a fucking joke.
knock knock
whose there?
::mumbles indistinctly::
::mumbles indistinctly:: who?
why dont you open the door!!!
Murmurmoo?
Are you swearing or just calling it a sex joke?
I'm really not seeing the problem here.
Forget whether or not there's a problem. Look at all that tasty, buttery drama!
Mmmmmmmm drama.
why?
I guess I don't view jokes about consensual, casual sex as a problem?
why would a lesbian consent to hetero sex?
Because she wanted to?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
thats a deep metaphysical question that has no correct answer
Let's just use that answer for both our questions then.
? no, i shant be doing that
Well, if you don't see why questions about identity and volition have deep metaphysical implications then I suppose we're done here.
Have a great day!

Meh. Who cares?
