Redditor in /r/offmychest claims to have purchased all the pies in a Burger King to spite a bratty child. Drama spills over into /r/thatHappened and /r/bestof. Posts deleted, account deleted.. but then national news gets a hold of it. (self.SubredditDrama)

/u/thr111 wants to find out in /r/offmychest if he's a bad person for buying every pie in a Burger King to spite a spoiled child and his bratty mother behind him in line. His account and subsequent post have since been deleted, but someone was kind enough to screenshot it and his edits! Much circlejerking about how delicious the revenge was is had.

The post gets crossposted to /r/bestof, where it gets highly upvoted, but commenters aren't having a lick of it. Post eventually gets removed as "Fake BS."

Which of course means it's time for /r/thatHappened! The first attempt was removed for not blurring usernames, but the second attempt got off the ground!

But then, after everything's all settled down.. the media breathlessly decides that whatever on reddit must be true, and gives morning radio show hosts jerk material for the next week.

That whole /b/ rule thing just reeks of 14 year old "maybe if I'm exclusionary enough it will make me cool" attitude. It's a board full of weird 15 year olds and lonely pedos, who gives a shit.

Rules 1 and 2 were meant to be applied during raids, but like anything else on the internet, the point was missed completely, such that to cite rules 1 and 2 as so many people do is to effectively break them.

Man, nothing sounds cooler than a code word for internet brigades. Do they wear Guy Fawkes masks and talk into walkie talkies too?

I'm not defending it, just pointing out that its use here is against even what the people who spawned the "rules" intended.
