a black guy writes one book that says blacks cannot be racist against whites and tries to re-define racism as prejudice+institutional power. Then some lady takes that book and writes her own book that says, "sexism is literally racism, therefore sexism = prejudice + power too!"
And then professors teach only this definition in their gender studies course, and somehow that makes it the true definition.
Tl;dr - all you need is two books making a claim and words suddenly get to mean whatever you want!

truly you know better than all those Ph.D.'s just like creationists know more about biology than Biology professors and academics.
I love it how it's basically "I'm so mad because people are using sociological definitions in a sociological discussion!"
Obviously in normal conversation people have a different definition of the word, but people can't stop complaining about it even in its proper context.
The problem that pops up being these specialized, sociological terms spill over into everyday discussion constantly, and people wonder why arguments break out. The words being used by each of the people have different definitions, and disagreements are inevitable. Hell, I'd argue this problem is the source of no disagreements.
The genders studies definition is the correct definition and by arguing against it, you're supporting racism.
People always get upset when white people are discriminated aganist or have racial violence done against them, but that doeesn't help anything because if white people aren't subjected to it, then they wouldn't care about those issues.
Racism against white people is racism against racism.
