This seems to boil down purely to "stop liking things I don't like"

More like: Stop sexualizing something that's meant to be a safe and nurturing for children.

But hey, YMMV.

If your kids only feel safe and nurtured while they watch a show on TV, I think they have a few more serious problems than bronies.

It is. Sorry to have to be the one to tell you, but it's not the TV or internet's job to be safe and nurturing for your kid. Funny how that works.

What on earth are you talking about? It's a kid's show that guys like to watch as well.

How is that sexualizing it?

There are literally people who write and draw sexual things based on my little pony

So?

rule 34

  • [-]

So I think that counts as sexualizing it

Rule 34 is just a fucking observation.

And pokemon and kim possible and ben 10 and sonic the hedgehog and... etc.

But no, lets hate on bronies because that show is meant for children, And Disney Princesses totally are not. NSFW

If you're gonna start a crusade against people who sexualize children's cartoons, you're gonna need a bigger pitchfork.

That's not really a good point when everything is.

It was in response to a post asking how my little pony was sexualized. Context it's important

Who said people who are against porn of MLP aren't against this stuff as well? Especially since many of the examples you'd mention are also pretty much child pornography in many of their manifestations.

I think it's about as sexualized a fandom as any other fandom that largely consists of young adults.

Oh. TIL that all the kids in my niece's Junior Kindergarten class ... and the target demographic for that show ... are "young adults" at the tender age of 4 or 5.

LOL.

There is no porn of anything else for that age group. Like Barney or anything. Nope. Nothing.

You should go for the cartoon near the same age group for the opposite gender, like Pokemon. Definitely no porn of that at all.

I think Pokemon is fairly equal in boys and girls. I fucking loved Pokemon growing up. Definitely no porn of that, nope, none at all. Not like there are subreddits and websites dedicated to it. Doesn't exist.

Cover your eyes and it will go away.

That's not what I'm saying. At all. All I want to do is take my niece to MLP events without having to shield her eyes from some of the more disgusting aspects of "Brony-ism". FFS, she's a little four-year-old kid. She shouldn't be having to deal with that crap at an event that's meant for kids her age.

I'm.. Fairly certain that they don't allow like, full fucking frontal cartoon horse porn on big screens or anything. I don't really know what you're talking about.

as someone who attends cons semi-regularly, i can say that they do not. at all-ages cons, pm all events unless staed otherwise are for all ages and if they aren't for all ages (say the hentai panels, speed dating, etc) they will id at the door

Figured. And as /u/10z20Luka said, why would a 4 year old want to go to a convention anyways? I know my nephews wouldn't want to go to a comic convention just to see people dressed as superman. Super confused.

Wow, offtopic, but do cons actually have a balanced enough gender ratio to make this work?

Are you fucking kidding? Why don't you sit here and explain about all the cartoon horse porn your nience has been subjected to at MLP conventions. Don't forget sources.

I kinda am. I have a niece who's four and a half. Should she have to be exposed to some brony's clopping pics at an event meant for kids her age?

  • [-]
  • rainbowsurfingkitten

I somehow don't think that the people in charge of organizing all-ages conventions for MLP allow clopping pictures to be visible there.

Yes, and most places dont' allow sexual harassment. It stil happens because assholes feel entitled to do whatever they like whereever they like. It only takes one to ruin it for everyone.

With the way she keeps avoiding the question? None.

I don't think there's many people who are gonna object to the idea of "not showing horse porn to 4 year olds." As stated earlier, it's the solution of "remove men from the fandom" that bothers them.

I watch the show with my cousin and her family (daughter in kindergarten and son in middle school). None of us are paranoid like you. It's a fun show for all ages and all genders. The girl in kindergarten likes the fan-made remixes of songs, so for her it's a good thing there are adult fans.

Well, given that some of the VA's are teen and preteen girls and they still make the rounds at conventions with nary an issue, I have absolutely no idea where you are getting this from.
