When we last left OP, he was coming to terms with the fact that he was probably the father of his not-girlfriend's baby, despite his solid proof otherwise, namely that he had secretly been sleeping with other people and that they had only had unprotected sex about twice recently. Or maybe more, he can't remember, he was drunk. Man, he has the WORST luck! He wasn't sweating though, because he had solid proof that she would get an abortion, namely that he wants one and also she's pro-choice.
In our new post, OP discovers that he's expected to actually be there emotionally for the woman who he impregnated, which he finds super icky, and is also shocked to learn that being pro-choice does not mean being okay with getting an abortion yourself. He buckles down, reads up about persuasion online (...lol) and tries to talk her into it to the point where she asks him to stop talking to her about it.
Let's check out some threads!
Also, due to some discussion below, I want to point out that OP finally admits that maybe there are some eensy weeny reasons she might have possibly thought she could rely on him emotionally and that he saw her as more than a fleshlight with a pulse:
>Part of why this ended up being messy is I've done that sorta thing a few times before. I'll be way too nice to her and do things that are caring and sweet and kind, and I'm certain it led to this situation. I wasn't detached enough. And the fucked up thing is I actually like being nice, but it doesn't really work. If I was just strictly hooking up, I don't think I'd be in this spot.
Sadly, the mods locked the thread and so we did not get as much drama as last time. C'est la vie!

Yeah, there are people who think that he must have been showing serious red flags IRL, but I've known people like this. We've only heard his POV after she got pregnant; people I know who are like this will spin a situation a million ways to get their desired outcome. Like your dude and "it's not even mine and she won't abort it, so that justifies me walking away", or this dude being like "I have horrible luck and am the responsible one, this is her fault, I never even liked her, so I can just walk away."
Am I the only one who finds his honesty a little refreshing? I'm married and in an incredibly stable relationship, but the thought of a little human being relying on me for food and shelter and knowledge makes me feel a shit ton of pure, basic dread. Granted, I'd put on a brave face for my wife, but there's no way I'd be confident going forward. Too much at stake, yanno. What if you accidentally raise a little monster? Not like a serial killer, but like the type of person who yells at fast food workers for getting a diet coke instead of regular. I couldn't live with that.
I think the only thing that really matters is what he chooses in the end, not the way he feels until that choice is made. If he chooses her, and the kid, and does his best to be there for both of them then all the feelings of trepidation and all the temptations to flee are entirely irrelevant. I believe that if he does the right thing in the end, then he cannot be a bad guy. In fact, he is specifically a good guy if he stays and supports her and their child.
Especially when it's so clear that she sperm jacked him.
Can you please not, in this situation? You're not famous enough for everyone to know this is sarcasm. Look at /u/Choppa790's reply. And wtf happened to "Novelty accounts are not welcome in /r/SubredditDrama"?
Oh god. Am I a novelty account now?
You arent?
That depends. Are the majority of your comments meant to look like copypasta, with absolutely no substance apart from comedic? And do you have a label next to your name to let readers know about said lack of substance?
I mean, I'm a fan, but yeah you're a novelty account.
Uh, coincidentally, the comment you actually replied to is not copypasta-esque - - it's just my actual opinion followed by a joke. I think if you want a serious "meta" discussion subreddit, try /r/circlebroke.
Look at the sidebar.
I guess I don't know what I'm looking for?
you're such a fan that you're campaigning to get him banned.
A single comment is a campaign now?
Right, I guess I used the wrong verb, so that means you're not trying to get him banned.
What "wrong verb"? I made one offhand comment. I didn't click "report", I didn't ask for public opinion, I didn't message the mods, I didn't summon demons from the bowels of Hell, I just pointed out an inconsistency. One of SRD's most popular new popcorn munchers is a self-proclaimed novelty account, and novelty accounts are against SRD rules. Personally, I think he's funny, and I've upvoted every SRD copypasta of his til that last one.
>What "wrong verb"?
campaign
> One of SRD's most popular new popcorn munchers is a self-proclaimed novelty account,
He's not. He even said "i'm not a novelty account". The only person who seems to be determined to make sure he's seen as a novelty account (and is thus banned) is yourself.
>Personally, I think he's funny, and I've upvoted every SRD copypasta of his til that last one.
So, then be quiet?
