I really hate tourney players.
This is seriously no better than OP's link yet people are upvoting it.
I put my wise word in simple notions, the idea that to play a game never meant to be competitive I need to remove like 78% of it is kinda stupid. Even worse when people act like it somehow makes you superior that you only play foxes only. In video format #Banned
So if MVC had items, dynamic stages, and other casualized features, it would no longer be a good competitive game even if you could disable all those features? At the end of the day, you're still criticizing people for how they want to play a game, which is dumb.
I'm criticizing people that act like they're superior because they changed the rules to the game.
Thanks for ignoring my first point. Also, it seems like you're the one acting like you're superior.
About Marvel v. Capcom? I didn't know MvC was a party fighter and the director for said game made items, and dynamic stages a big part of the game.
Again, thanks for ignoring my point.
The point being that if we added items to a different type of fighter, the fan base would maybe not use them? Or the point of what exactly?
You're trying way too hard at being willfully ignorant.

If they balanced it properly like smash didn't do yea.
Competive smash is the fighting game for people who don't know how to play fighting games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXgpGBbh5r8 lol, ok
I mean, I play melee and Brawl and I love it but They're one the easier fighting games and Brawl is a bit more easy than melee. That video doesn't even touch some shit I've seen in Marvel vs. Capcom.
But it also has Metaknight.....
It's not on the same level as Street Fighter or UMVC3, but I do now respect smash more than injustice.
Melee is more difficult than Marvel both on a technical (execution) level, and especially mental. Can't say much for street fighter since I don't play it, but I'm willing to bet it's the same as Melee, minus the unnecessarily difficult 1 frame links that are in SF.
Melee players are god-like, every other gamer is a scrub.
All he did was hit the dude and chased em down to finish him off. The only thing technical about that vid was the fact he came in a little bit higher to get past his falcons already damaged shield.
Lets not pay attention to the fact that that was about 8 or so button inputs per second, most of which required precise timing to execute properly.
Let's ignore the fact that half of those inputs were the player continuing to hold a direction( he continued to hold down to fall faster something you naturally do when playing games because it's a common thing),he also included inputs where the player made an input error(there were 2).
Edit: smash is the easiest of all fighting games bro don't lie to yourself.
If its so "easy" why don't you go to some big tournaments and prove it? Talk is cheap.
I don't gotta do shit. When smash doesn't take out half the content to make it " competitive" come find me
OK, than your statement holds 0 credibility.
Yea man Kirby superstar is a great fighting game.

Please please PLEASE try to replicate that video. You will fail miserably. I don't understand how people nowadays can still doubt the ridiculous technical requirements for Melee, all you need to do is pick up a controller and try to do it yourself, which you won't be able to do, without a tonnnn of practice for a long period of time. Or better yet try keeping up with a half decent player
Dude I could post thousands of videos of other fighters and ask you to do the same thing. The main difference between the ones I could post and smash is that the game would have been designed to be a proper fighting game with balanced characters, levels, ect. And smash isn't that and it won't be until Nintendo decided to make it that way.
It wouldn't matter if you asked me to do that, because I'm not denying the skill of other fighters. You on the other hand are acting like this stuff is easy, and that the game is noncompetitive. Who cares if items and some stages were removed to play competitively? The fact is that the game still ends up being ridiculously deep and technical, shouldn't matter what was or wasn't removed.
Well it is the least competitive fighting game out. And to make it more competitive you remove gameplay features. That's the core of my beef right there. If the smash community somehow figured out a way to keep all the features in then yea it be up there as a very technical game cause the meta game would end up being huge. But you guys decided to go the gloried beat em up path so it's boring to play and watch.

That will happen when Sakurai takes the final slumber, and they pour a couple feet on concrete on the casket. He really doesn't want it to be a competitive fighter.
What input error are you talking about?
When he started edge hogging. I'm assuming he wanted to turn around little earlier than he actually did.
It is a competitive fighting game, but for it to work, I need to slash like half the content to do so, content a dev missed they baby's birthday to make for me, so that I can laugh my ass off that the nintendog has shown up like three times in a row. I do not have time for that, I don't want to play SF with Kirby, I'm trying to Metaknight everything!
And we'll play on like 2 stages cause the fact that most of the stages move or fuck with you in some way really shows this game is competitive.
Every other fighting game takes place on one flat stage with different backgrounds to give the illusion that they are different stages, so smash's "2 stages" are still more than almost every other traditional fighter ever created. Also, the fact that wonky stages exist in smash doesn't change the fact that this game has the depth required to be played at such a high level, the game has been out since 2001 and still people are discovering new things.
People still discover tons of things about old games when there's a community of people who still play it.
Even then the community chooses to not use half the content of the game to even make it competitive.
If street fighter suddenly introduced items in their newest addition, most players would shut them off. Would street fighter no longer be competitive because people are "removing half the content"? Absolutely not.
Street fighter has items Vegas claws and mask and Cody's knife and people play just fine. Even then the people who make street fighter get active input from high level players while Nintendo doesn't cause it's not supposed to be a competitive fighter .
Yes, it was never intended to be competitive. But melee was a beautiful mistake, and has the duality of it of being both a competitive and casual game. Also, big difference between those items and items like bombs that spawn randomly and grant one lucky player an immediate advantage.
It does that because it's a Nintendo party game. It's fun but it's not a true fighting gane
