I don't know what city that guy lives in but the current law in San Francisco is public nudity is legal if you have a parade permit and choose to allow it. So those guys aren't just breaking the law here, it's explicitly legal. Although public nudity was completely legal here a year ago.
I wanted to check op's history to see where he's from. i didn't find anything useful on that front, but I did find he posts to /r/leagueoflegends /r/gonewild and /r/feet and boy does he have some things to tell you about black people and women. So more or less exactly what you would expect
Well the OP is just trying to start the "gay people should act like straight people" circlejerk so that's hardly surprising.
That's not much of a circlejerk if you ask me. They try to promote themselves as just people and then when they act freaking weird, they get upset when we're not happy about it. It's not a circlejerk. If you want me to treat you like a normal person, then act like a normal person. If you act like a freak, don't get upset when I treat you like one. That goes for anyone.
You're going to start this here too? Clearly these people have never been to, seen, or heard about a gay pride parade because 90% of it is fully dressed people.
> If you want me to treat you like a normal person, then act like a normal person.
Who are you to say what is normal? I would type more but fuck it, I don't care what straight people think about pride parades. They're not for you so fuck off.
>I don't care what straight people think about pride parades. They're not for you so fuck off.
Dude, Pride is for everyone accepting, tolerating and celebrating all forms of sexuality. Period. If you can't get that, you're missing the entire point. It doesn't matter who you are or who you love, as long as you're happy with it.
I'm bi and have been told, by both gay and straight people, that my sexuality is a fad and I'll go full gay/straight eventually, for 17 years.
No, gay pride parades are specifically for everyone who isn't a cisgendered and straight. What goes on during them should not be influenced by people outside the LGBT community nor should the LGBT community care what they think.
I've only been to one pride festival, but it is most certainly an inclusive event (except for the part where I had to pay to get in). There's something for everyone at those things, and the outside dance floor they set up is amazing.
From the "rainbow flag" wiki page. "The use of rainbow flags has a long tradition; they are displayed in many cultures around the world as a sign of diversity and inclusiveness".
Like how people say feminism is about equality for all, not just women. Same thing for gay pride. It's about everyone, it's just saying "gay" to differentiate it from a school pride or ethnicity based pride events. This "Fuck off straight people" attitude is the opposite of why pride was started. So, any sexuality that's not your own doesn't belong? Eat a figurative dick. (Not you, but people of that opinion)
You don't want lgbt effected by straight people? Too late, cupcake. The multifaceted world of sexuality includes straight people, which partially defines your sexuality. Straight people have fought just as hard for your rights as gays have. Jeanne Manford has done more for gay rights than you ever will. Exclusion is the exact gods damned problem that started Pride, and inclusion has always been the goal.
In short, why are you trying to cut the blue(harmony) out of the rainbow? (The funny thing here being most pride flags lack pink, which is the color symbolizing sexuality)
> Straight people have fought just as hard for your rights as gays have.
Lol. Shut it, breeder.
Do you hear that? Its the sound of harvey milk rolling over in his grave.
"I'm Harvey Milk, and i'm only here to recruit fellow gay people."
Apparently only I find this comment amusing.
It sounds like something straight from /r/childfree
Nah, man, I'm with you. "Breeder." Top lel.
Cmon! LGBT drama 2nd edition!
I thought the main point of this thread was whether or not nudity in public should be allowed just because it's for a parade. Personally, I'm opposed to it for various reasons. I understand that most of the people are fully clothed during these parades, but it's the 10% that ruin it for me.
The problem with that thread (and this one) is it's a bunch of straight people telling the LGBT community what their parade should be like and they obviously haven't even been to one. I've only ever been to the Chicago parade but I've been a few times and seen exactly 0 dicks. Plenty of guys in skimpy underwear, but no actual nudity. Also, if nudity is legal in a place like San Francisco, who are you to tell that community that they shouldn't celebrate in that way.
I haven't read the whole thing so I don't know about everybody who posted there, but I'm straight and the one rule I would have for the LGBT community during these parades is I just don't them to get a free pass to be nude in public just because it's a parade. Sure in San Francisco it's legal and its fine in that case, but I'm sure there have been plenty of other cases where nudity is illegal but the people in the parade got away with it because it was a parade.
>You're going to start this here too? Clearly these people have never been to, seen, or heard about a gay pride parade because 90% of it is fully dressed people.
Yeah, but those 10% bring lots of attention, and that's still a large percentage to be doing something like that.
>Who are you to say what is normal? I would type more but fuck it, I don't care what straight people think about pride parades. They're not for you so fuck off.
I'm a normal person that can make observations about normal people. Being nude in public isn't something that normal people do. It is an abnormal thing. You got upset because some people want "gays to act straight". I want people to act normal. If you want a pride parade, more power to you, but they're a little far out there. Just follow the laws and I'm not going to be too bothered by it.
So, this argument kinda sounds like you're saying "normal" means straight and uptight.
To me, normal people don't have their head stuck so far up their own ass. Might want to get that checked out.
I don't know, you're doing a pretty fair representation of it.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. Could you be more specific instead of just making a personal attack?
Whoa, brother. Check your head in ass privilege
>If you want me to treat you like a normal person, then act like a normal person
Normal- adjective, like me.
"I am normal, behaving differently form myself makes you not normal."
I don't have normal or typical hobbies. I don't look like a normal or typical American. I act like a normal person though. To say that normalcy doesn't exist is nothing less than idiocy. You, everyone ITT, everyone in the linked thread, and all of my downvoters know damned well that flaming homosexuality that pushes one to commit indecent exposure is not normal. Why is it not normal? Because no one else does that.
> flaming homosexuality that pushes one to commit indecent exposure is not normal. Why is it not normal? Because no one else does that
haha what? "flaming homosexuality" doesn't push anyone to do anything. You really think it's only flamboyant gay people who get nude? Plenty of other parades have nudity or skimpy clothing. At a lot of pride parades people aren't even nude, there are some people wearing skimpy clothing, sure, but "indecent exposure" is not really something that seems to happen much.
