edit: fuck it, there's no point trying to argue a different opinion here. Enjoy your one-note, self-congratulatory circlejerk.
The slippery slope argument is bullshit. By that logic making "gay propaganda" illegal would lead to "straight propaganda" being made illegal.

I was unaware that furries have had to campaign for equal rights, lumping in a subculture with issues of sexuality and gender is ridiculous. Unless you can come up with actual proof for the slippery slope argument then it means nothing, gay propaganda was only recently made illegal and as far as I can tell Russia didn't become a society fully accepting of the BDSM community or polyamory.
To suggest straight is the default kind of implies that sexuality is a choice. There isn't really a default.
That doesn't stop from making it an ultimately bigoted, intolerant and destructive policy. Also homophobia in Russia has recently been purposefully instigated by the government
Yeah, by the kind of logic above, in a severely racist country we shouldn't have let the emancipation proclamation go through as that's the slippery slope to giving everyone equal rights
How in the fuck would you portray an otherkin in the Sims?
i imagine furries would be possible with some custom content and an expansion that allows the option to play as like a werewolf.
I had a werewolf sim. He died because he decided to go wolfman in the middle of cooking dinner and burned the house down.
I still can't tell if that makes him better than the one who burned the house down because he was screaming to SkyGod that he was hungry so much he forgot he had lasagna in the oven.
i had a sim burn what appeared to be a salad once. then he went to his inventor's workshop and burned the house down and went with it. i would just move another Nico in and let the cycle continue. i had a graveyard full of dumb blondes who would burn salads and PB&J sandwiches.
"family oriented game"
as if gay people don't have families.
lol someone who's probably never played calling it family orientated. in sims 3 your sims can have sex in elevators, closets, photo booths, hot tubs, rabbit hole buildings (town hall and theater), showers and more. there's drunkenness, physical fights, horrible deaths (electrocution, starvation, fire), public sex, partners can cheat on each other, etc. all you need are a few mods to allow polyamory, BDSM, sex toys, crossdressing, etc. I have played a transgender sim before, there is an entire site dedicated to it. you name it there's a mod or custom content for it.
I can sort of see their reasoning.
I can definitely see it's fucking daft.
DAE think this guy needs to open his mind a little?
> Fully expecting a storm of downvotes here
That's for putting that up the front, it's a real time saver.
Can't believe you used that fallacy so courageously here.
^(goes out to buy more popcorn)
> seen as the first step on a downward slope, and what would be next? Transgender people? Crossdressing? Polyamory? BDSM relationships? Furries, otherkin and who knows what else in what is supposed to be a family-oriented game.
This is known as the "Slippery Butt Hole" fallacy.
This has been popularized by songs such as "Poop Scoopin' Boogie" and "I'm an a Hershey Highway to Hell"
Valid argument. Upvoted.
Edit: It's funny I'm getting downvoted for saying your argument was valid. I don't agree with it, but it's a decent argument about different values upheld in different countries.
A decent argument? It's the wishy-washiest of moral relativism. You can use that line of argument to justify anything.
I'm used to getting downvotes with no counter-argument. Hivemind circlejerk and all that.
Everyone uses upvotes/downvotes as a way to say they agree or disagree with something. But still, I'm a really swell guy and it hurts inside when I see there are people who don't like what I said.
It's redditor nature to downvote things they disagree with, I wish it wasn't the case too. I 100% agree with you. Valid argument. Adds to the discussion. Don't agree with the point. Upvote.
Yeah but we all do it. People downvoting probably believe I'm a super homophobe because I simply recognized /u/MD520's argument as being a good one. What's funnier is that he is making an argument for Russia's POV, one he doesn't agree with either.
I really try not to. I probably have an upvote to downvote ratio of like 10/1. I downvote 1 word responses and things that don't add anything mostly.
Yeah, he was basically saying, "It makes sense they would do this because Russia." and then explained their rationale.
Yeah I upvote much more than I downvote. But it really boils down to me upvoting things I like to read and downvoting things I don't like to read. But downvotes are always valid and the person being downvoted is 100% wrong and probably a bigot.
You are most likely right about them being bigoted. I hate the "slippery slope if we allow homosexuality then we will all end up pedos" crap too. OP didn't phrase it that way though.
