Electric doesn't get as close a shave for me.

....is the same advice I get from everyone who doesn't know me. Electric razors aren't able to shave down to a smooth feeling in my underarms. It doesn't matter if I use a $200 Philips or a $10 store brand.

Yes it absolutely does matter. If you get a good electric razor you absolutely can shave down to a smooth feeling.

I don't have to know you. I know hair, and I know razors.

Seeing as I have used a "good" electric razor on my underarms, and use it on my face without issue...

Yes, you do have to know me. I don't think you know hair as well as you think you do. Here's a tip: it's different on everyone. Don't act like you know someone else's body better than they do.

OK, what's the razor?

And no, I absolutely do not think I know hair better than I think I do.

Here's a tip: People really aren't unique little snowflakes. Don't act like your body is one of a kind (because it really isn't).

This is what I have been using for a number of months.

And no, you don't. I'm a physiologist. I study the human body. You're, what, a video editor? Principle of individuality, bub. There are particular qualities of hair or the armpit skin surface that can cause snagging, roughness, etc. from even the best razors. Does the electric razor work fine for your armpits? Great for you! Everyone gather 'round to celebrate your averageness. My armpits aren't exactly the same as yours. I'm sorry you assume your personal (anecdotal) evidence is the 100% absolute rule.

Maybe someday you'll realize that people aren't built like computers and even though we have the same parts, they're never exactly the same. There's a reason products like straight razors still exist on the market, and it's not because of slow adoption of electrics.

>And no, you don't.

Yes. Yes I do.

>I'm a physiologist. I study the human body.

Oh, that's convenient.

>You're, what, a video editor?

Ah, so a pastry chef only knows how to make pastries. Nothing else. Got it.

Just going to copy and paste the things you fail to read.

People really aren't unique little snowflakes. Don't act like your body is one of a kind (because it really isn't).

I never once suggested your body was exactly like mine. Instead what I suggested is that there really isn't that much variation in certain things... because there isn't.

>Maybe someday you'll realize that people aren't built like computers and even though we have the same parts, they're never exactly the same.

Maybe someday you'll realize I never once suggested this in the first place.

>There's a reason products like straight razors still exist on the market, and it's not because of slow adoption of electrics.

Yeah, it's because a lot of people prefer them. Who'd of thought?

> Oh, that's convenient.

I guess my months of talking about my career on Reddit was just an elaborate ruse to trick just you and you alone. You've got me, pack up everyone. We've been found out.

> Instead what I suggested is that there really isn't that much variation in certain things

Okay, gonna have to stop you there. Unless you were a biologist or physiologist or dermatologist or hell, a licensed cosmetologist in a past career, I'm gonna go with "hobbyist at best". Know what hobbyists aren't? Experts.

> Don't act like your body is one of a kind

I must have missed the part where I did that. I've been talking about myself and the thousands of other electric razor users who don't have the average skin/hair type combination to shave a part of the body their razor wasn't designed to handle. Reading the Amazon reviews of the razor I own should provide enough support for that.

> Yeah, it's because a lot of people prefer them. Who'd have thought?

FTFY, and did you ever think why they prefer them? Maybe it's because they shave their bodies better? Nahhh. Couldn't be.

You're deluded if you think there are literally zero people on Earth for whom electric razors aren't the best option. I know a few people whose facial skin can't even handle it, lotion/cream or no! The human body is vastly more complex than you seem to think it is... It's all keratin in the end, but so many things factor into how exactly your hair and skin grow (genetics, nutrition, environment, etc.) that it's frankly ridiculous to make a claim like "electric razors work for everybody in every use case".

This conversation is fucking absurd. I never thought I'd meet someone who honestly thought electric razors were infallible shaving devices.

So just how many more words are you going to put in my mouth?

Jesus fucking christ. Try reading for once. Maybe you'll see that I never once said anything fucking like that.
