/r/technology continues to dig deeper, as the mods attempt to move all discussion to a different sub. (self.SubredditDrama)

This post is sure to be a hotbed for even more /r/Technology drama, as mods attempt to move discussion out of the main subreddit into a smaller, less visible one. What could possibly go wrong?
Edit: Apparently I left the door open too long, and some drama got in

I have NOT been invited to be mods of ANY reddits I was not already the mod of a month ago before all of this happened. Please stop lying to the community.
/u/Werner__Herzog was referring to the post I linked up top. /u/Calimhero certainly does make it sound like you were invited to be a mod.
Well /u/Calimhero is lying, but then again he is a mode who has lied to the community and censored us while hypocritically not following his own rules.. so what do you expect?
Hey look here. I'll quote it for you:
>From here on, self-posts will be disallowed in /r/technology[3] . We accept mod applications for /r/technologymeta[4] . /u/honestduane [-11][5] is officially invited to check that nothing is censored.
Because if I look at your comment/post history such a thing doesn't show up, and I never got a notice.
Consider my other response the response you need.
Yes I have. I have explicitly invited him to mod our meta sub to make sure that there was no censorship. Still waiting on his response.
Not true. I have not been invited to join as mod of ANY reddit as apart of this and I am not a mod of any Reddit I was not already a mod of before all of this.
One thing to consider in these sort of situations is that such an offer, were it actually made, by the mods of /r/technology could be construed as a bribe or otherwise an attempt to pacify me in order to get me - the being offered the bribe in this hypothetical scenario - to join their side or otherwise give them something they control over me so that they can use that as leverage with me in the future.
I desire no such situation; I will give them no such leverage. I will not be bribed and I will accept no such offers.
However, the fact that they now want to bribe me - and are willing to state so publicly that I am such a thorn in their side that they now want me to go away enough that they are willing to actually attempt to bribe me in an attempt to gain power over me and get me to go away or join them - is a good thing for reddit as a whole as it further proves every single one of my allegations about them being corrupt.

I saw the post where you were offered a mod position. Why do you keep saying you weren't invited?

Messy lines, but the best I can do on a bumpy road

Well, if you want to stay part of the problem, fine. It's always easier to stay on the outside and bitch about censorship. We offered you a way to make sure meta posts were not censored -- that was your complaint, right? -- and you turned it down. Suit yourself, reddit politics and crying wolf is a lot easier than actually doing something for the community, I understand perfectly if you don't want to go through the trouble. Don't say we didn't offer you a way to right our supposed wrongs, though.
The issue at hand is as mod of a separate reddit I would have no power to change things; I would be a puppet mod in a puppet reddit that does nothing but extends your power and reach, after accepting a position that was basically a bribe to shut-up, and be put in a position where you could ignore me at will because I would still have no power over you to protect the community from you.
Oh and you are making ti so I cant comment here, so I'm simply not even going to try to respond since I cant comment freely due to the 15 minute delay between posts anyway.
So fuck off, I'm not going to be your puppet, I'm not going to accept your bribe, and if you want to impress me or pacify the community, make me an offer that hurts you if I accept to show you really mean it.
Otherwise, I have no intention of talking with you in a reddit I cant freely post/reply/comment in without having to wait a half a fucking hour to reply.
You were crying censorship, we are offering you a way to make sure no meta posts are censored. Full permissions and everything. I don't see how it is a bribe. We are giving you the key to your problem.
>Oh and you are making ti so I cant comment here
I have nothing to do with that. Go easy on the paranoia.
>make me an offer that hurts you if I accept to show you really mean it.
What's with that "hurting" business? We are asking you to be one of our peers, with equal power. What do you expect from me? Should I cut myself or something?
>I have no intention of talking with you in a reddit I cant freely post/reply/comment in without having to wait a half a fucking hour to reply.
Quality or quantity, dude.

Not sure if you're aware, but you should np that link lest it be considered a brigade.
>the terrible things you are doing as paid mods who no doubt get kickbacks for censoring and deleting posts
Oh, I so wish I was a paid mod. How can one get paid? Who do I have to contact? Pls respond.
>I see this as nothing more than an attempted bribe that would put me in a position for you to have power over me in the future
Very, very paranoid person. Also, not a great understanding of politics, or how reddit works. Equal permissions, don't you get it? But it's better to just bark on the outside. I agree it's more fun.
>that you now want me to go away enough that you are willing to actually attempt to bribe me
How twisted. No, we thought you wanted to help. Sorry about that. PS: I'm too broke to bribe you, sorry. Ask Comcast.
>it further proves every single one of my allegations about you being corrupt.
In your twisted, silly little mind, yes.
You're losing :)
I don't know who to believe anymore.
It's almost as if you're not lying. Wow.
Now leave, I don't remember anyone inviting you here.
Yes you have.
No I have not, and any claim otherwise is false.
known truths.
how's the pyjama party going?
pretty decent, there are actual women here. and yes i'm sitting on my tablet surfing reddit laughing and laughing.
> there are actual women here. and yes i'm sitting on my tablet surfing reddit laughing and laughing.
you're doing something wrong...
give it another couple hours. everyone will have been drinking for a bit and i won't be able to read a screen.

I mentioned your name. Funny you didn't get notified. Post is right here. It's a sticky, how could you miss it?
Because you used your mod powers to edit it? Because the notice only shows up once and I have been getting HUNDREDS of updates? How is it that you have NO IDEA how this works? Or maybe you do know how this works, and want to abuse the system?
>Because you used your mod powers to edit it?
You're new here, are you?
>Because the notice only shows up once and I have been getting HUNDREDS of updates?
I'm not responsible for your lack of inbox management.
>Or maybe you do know how this works, and want to abuse the system?
Yeah, it's a conspiracy, like everything else. I asked you to mod on of our subs, you didn't respond, then you start going all caps on me because you didn't respond to the notification. Ok, sure buddy. There obviously ain't no pleasing you. It's better to be permanently outraged.
Maybe you should show us a screencap of the invite message you sent.
Sorry, hard to screencap from a mobile, but I can copy it. Just sent it:
invited moderators for technologymeta
slapchopsuey (10023) 7 hours ago full permissions (change)
remove
honestduane (1095) just now ago full permissions (change)
remove
I invited him in thread. I can send him a formal invite, though, sure. I'll get to it straight away.
Shit like this is why semantics is important.
It sounds like homeboy thought you had already sent that invite (or formal invite, to use your parlance.) when in fact your initial claim was just a "Hey I'll mod you if you want" thing and not an actual "formal" invite to moderate.
Yeah, silly me, I thought he was watching /r/technology so much he would read a sticky. But in this instance, even though he hounded the /new queue, he didn't see my post. So, as I am a nice person, I made it official and invited him.
