I don't think that SRS or any other SJW-esque (male, female, or otherwise) groups care about rape victims (male or female) beyond using them to further their own agenda.
There are certainly people and organizations who do genuinely care about victims but these people aren't it.

I'm split. I think it's both to be honest. Not sure what the % is on one side or another, but there is ample evidence that people use tragedy to further ones own agenda. It may be a fringe minority, but it still exists.
Their agenda is sitting at home finding things to be offended by on the internet.
It's not really hard to be offended by rape, pedophile, racism, and misogyny.

Have you spent much time on SRS? Yes, some of the time they are rightfully angry about racist, sexist comments. However it's a mixed bag to say the least. There's so many comments that ignite SRS's ire that are really just jokes. I'm not saying they're good jokes, but if they saved their anger for actual racism and sexism then they wouldn't be the joke of reddit.
I am not subscribed but I visit it every once in awhile. From the post I have seen the jokes are not that funny and are offensive. You have the right to tell any joke you like. That being said people have the right to call you out on it also. You do not get to make offensive jokes and then hide behind free speech and whine when people call you out for it.

If you're scared of being associated with SRS, you literally have nothing to worry about. Even the trolls that go around posting comments like "All the butter in the world couldn't cover this much clamhurt." die off and get distracted so easily that you can ignore every one of them because they're don't care about anyone or anything, they're just around to pretend they're upset and pray for karma. Those trolls are just as much of an "armchair activist" as any SRSer.

But that's the thing: if you're going to silence yourself or change who you are just because you're scared of a small group of circlejerkers on the internet, you're LITERALLY letting the terrorists win (unless that change you're making is to be less racist/bigoted/shitty of a person, in which case SRS did their job). You know what I realized? I can just ignore them. Because they're the extremist minority that wants to hijack something for attention, I don't have to give them any of my time or attention. Instead of saying, "I'm not an ally because this group of assholes is associated" I became "I'm an ally for the rights of my friends and people like them, and even though that group of assholes is associated and will get the same rights, they're insignificant and just a lot of tossers."
Do that, and you'll find you're able to transcend the drama. You'll be able to look at the drama and laugh because you know that being an ally doesn't make you a circlejerker or a complete and utter "fuck all white people kill all straight people" douchebag.
I would agree with you, but unfortunately the loud minority has a habit of talking over the quiet majority. If anyone is interested in actual rape activism try volunteering with or donating to the local RAINN group in your area.
My fiance volunteers at the rape crisis center nearby operating their sexual assault hotlines and we donate fairly often. It's one of the better groups out there.
