Gay man has questions for /r/MensRights, but /r/MensRights doesn't really appreciate them. Accusations of trolling abound. Much more in full comments. (np.reddit.com)

O boy, SRS is heavy in this thread.

Men's rights is about men's issues, not gay issues.

They are unrelated, if he wants to discuss homosexual issues he should go to their sub.

Sorry, I didn't realise that gay men's issues are distinct from men's issues.

This is where the MRM may be running into a problem with...gasp!...intersectionality!

Should I go into the hamburger loving forum and tell them that hot dogs are great too, why aren't we talking about them?

If you went into a hamburger forum and wandered about their views on vegeburgers, or I don't know, Hamburger Helper, you'll be kind of confused when they started saying that they didn't exist.

Yours is a terrible analogy.

If I was a female white supremacist, should I go into whitepride and ask them why they aren't talking about women's issues?

They are unrelated and off-topic.

More likely you just have an axe to grind

Edit: Posts in AMR, nailed it

Edit2: Just actually read your post. Completely misrepresenting what is happening in the thread. No surprise, axe to grind.

But a gay man is still a man, correct? And there are issues that gay men have to deal with related to gender roles that should be under the purview of Men's Rights?

No, he wants help with gay issues. He said exactly that in the OP. If he has issues that gay people deal with, he should go to that sub as they will help him more.

If he wants help with men's issues, then he is in the right place.

But gay men are still men, and if the Men's Rights movement is what it claims it should at least have some stance on issues that would concern gay men and hope to help them achieve equality. Especially considering so many of the issues gay men have--the way they are not seen as real men because of their sexuality, for example--directly concern men's rights.

>But gay men are still men,

doesn't mean all their problems are related to them being men.

it's not about the person with the problæem it's about what the problem itself is related to.

if the problem is because he's a man it's a MRM issue. if it's because he's gay it's not.

if it's because he's a gay man it is.

AFAIK it does have a stance on gay men. They should be treated equally, like all other men.

>Especially considering so many of the issues gay men have--the way they are not seen as real men because of their sexuality, for example--directly concern men's rights.

Once again, this is a gay issue and not a men's issue. Just because there is a gay man out there doesn't mean MR has to pick up the torch. It is for equality for men and gay issues have only marginal overlap with that. Same with black men, asian men, one legged men. But they don't have to campaign for racial equality, disability equality.

I would think that yes, a female white supremacist absolutely has a right to ask why they aren't talking about white womens issues.

In fact, this proves how backwards you are. You assume the white supremacist movement is a white mans movement yet you claim men are so suppressed they have no say in anything. Look how wrong you are! White men have it so good they assume everything is already about them because it almost all is.

Now fuck off. If you won't stick up for you a mans right to be with a man your movement is only about straight men and if you won't talk about black mens issues that makes your "movement" a straight white man movement and we have had plenty of those. You fucking twat.

O look, you are spinning everything to fit your narrative. Why is this not a surprising tactic.

The good ol' SRS-boogeywomyn.

SRS is not heavy in this thread. Believe it or not, ordinary people just don't like your shitty subreddit. I have no affiliation to any "gender-faction", and I can tell you that MRM is equally batshit as tumblr/SRS-feminism

>Men's rights is about men's issues, not gay issues.

The MRM is about non-issues. Stop crying, you're not oppressed.

OP posts in AMR, try again

And you post in /r/MensRights and /r/PussyPass so clearly you have an objective opinion on this drama.

The MR sub has it's issues but this thread isn't one of them.

The guy came in asking for homosexual support, something that has nothing to do with MensRights and he got pretty much what he asked for.

Pussypass is a terrific sub, I recommend you take a look.

In what world are gay men not men? How gay a men's "rights" group exclude issues of homosexuality? Your "movement" should be renamed Straight White Male rights.

Obviously you people struggle to read and comprehend so I will link you to someone who says it fairly well.

Read the entire convo. You can see the OP purposely being dense. He has now receded to the AMR sub where his alt resides. Brand new account that seeks out the MR sub? Give me a break

His points still stand about the men's "rights" movement being hostile to homosexuality. It's not surprising to me, though. I just like to point how out awful MRAs are.

I have never heard that the MRM is hostile to homosexuality. Ever.

I am sure there are many men who are MRA's and pushing for gender equality will benefit gay men as much or more than straight men.
