that's weird, because I was trying to figure out a way to compare letters to molecules and words to atoms but couldn't quite figure out how to word it.

However, the fact is that the sentence has a specific meaning and one which I'd hope you wouldn't ignore in daily life. What we say and the words we choose to say it has an effect on the people around us and society. That effect may be big, it may be almost negligble, but it is there. Recognizing that and adjusting your behavior doesn't make you a "pussy".
