I had to show this private conversation to Kurtis and Charlie prior to the event because we were 11 days out and we were in 'red alert' mode. At that point privacy went out the window and player + event concerns became the priority. That was the WORST week of my career trying to salvage MLG Columbus with Speed + Dignitas messes to mop up. So much went on behind the scenes....

You did the right thing man, privacy or not you had to see who is who since you didn't know if that guy was really trustworthy.

Imagine if you had listened to this fraud, we would have missed the best team of the tournament and the storyline they created with their games!

Dude, it ended up being a crazy event and I can't thank you and everyone else enough for putting on such a great event. I had absolutely no voice left when I got home Monday because of how nuts I was going watching "Speed Gaming" the entire weekend. You made the right choice and I think that much was made clear by them WINNING. So, fuck that guy. Charlie was such a standup guy at the event and those guys couldn't have asked for anyone more down to earth to stand behind them during the event. His roar after they beat team DK the first time to get into the semi-finals was fucking awesome. Props to all of you. Cheers, dude.

I just want to be clear on something. It is not about disrespecting the man, I don't know him at all and I'm not picking a fight with him. However, this whole thing needs to stop. If you fucked up, just own up to it and stop making it worse. Every action that has ensued since their team has started to explode has been vested in spite and aggression.

Take a step back dude, take a breath and stop. You're in quicksand right now and every time you lash out, you sink deeper.

What are you talking about? He did admit that him posting that when he did was a total mistake to post just before the finals at ~27min. He also apologizes a bit later about posting the contracts and he says he has apologized personally to the players. You should be a bit more careful about what you say since your voice does carrry a certain authority now.

I mean he fucked up big and people should really think twice before doing business with him but the hate here has already reached a point that no matter what the guy says it people don't care.

Just look at the way this 'interview' was conducted. Very accussatory and not really focused at finding the truth. It could have been much better.

An apology means nothing in business, you mess up in any job apologising when you have wronged an employee or employer does nothing but alleviate emotions and feelings rather than actually addressing problems and fixing them.

He posted personal documents to the internet, without consenting the players at the very least, he delegated the travel arrangements to someone else who didn't give a shit which led to the team underperforming, sought to replace the roster at MLG on short notice making it shitty for the players, fans and MLG.

This guy really needs to start working on issues he has with himself, he's managed to dig himself further though and tarnished his reputation on the internet.

I've never in my life heard someone being so obsessed with the word respect while showing none himself. Seriously. Going on about how "the scene" is lacking respect while treating both the fans like shit (Netolic League make the Premier League look like TI3). Flat out lying about going behind Speed Gamings back. Treating Charlie like a child. Pretending like he is above questioning because he has money.

I hate it. I just fucking hate it. He doesn't know what respect is. He thinks respect means accepting his version of reality while shutting the fuck up. Beating your kids doesn't make them respect you. At best it makes them want to do everything they can not to upset you. As far as I can tell this is what he thinks respect is.

He seems like a sad, disrespectful person who people should stay the fuck away from unless they don't mind getting shit on in order to have the possibility to maybe make some money, which you most likely could have made anyway without this abusive, cynical, backstabbing, selfish little cuntnuckle.

Ok I get what this guy's deal is now. He is stuck on the idea that the team NAME is what matters at an event. He thinks if he wants to replace his team on a whim it means the new lineup should automatically take the place simply because they have the same name.

He doesn't understand this is a industry based around the players, and in most cases when a team loses their sponsor before a tourney, they are invited to compete under whatever name they want anyway.

Basically he puts no value on the players themselves and thinks because he owns the name of SPEED (which may or may not even be true) he has absolute control over their fates. What a guy.

If there is any name that means nothing in Esports, its Speed Gaming. What does mean something is the group of amazing players that happens to be playing under the name. Speed is nothing without Aui_2000, EE-Sama, Singsing, Pieliedie, Bone7 and RTZ and without speed those players are just as skilled and their accomplishments stand on their own.

Valve doesnt even deal with the organisations. They deal with players. All earnings are sent directly to players.

The paychecks from winnings still generally will go to an organisation. Players don't (usually) get all the winnings, some amount goes to the team itself. I believe What Adam Specifically said was that they deal with players and organisations they trust.

Sending 60k to NaVi the company is no big deal, they know it will go to the players correctly. In Speed's case I wouldn't be surprised if MLG wrote checks directly to the players.

Edit: I might be wrong on that though, for all I know it might be on the players to give a portion of their winnings to their organisation as stated in their contract.

My understanding was he didn't keep all the winnings, but was unhappy with the cut NaVi takes, and he left when they wouldn't renegotiate that part of the contract for future winnings. But either way, yea it was something to that effect.

Marco had the Title of Speed Gaming Manager but he did ZERO managing.

Not booking Flights for team directly, got someone else to do it instead and just reimbursing the other person.

Was not with Team for the most part in Korea. Apparently not even having meals with the team.

Not at MLG at all, and thus not taking care of the players.

He is the worst manager I have ever seen in any eSports. And I cant find myself to take anything he says seriously.

Its just some "kids" involved in his "hobby". Its no big deal rly, just some casual embezzlement.

Apparently embezzling is fine as long as we're dealing with small numbers. I'm sure potential employers and investors will view him as trustworthy.

He has no concept of how any of this actually works and thinks he is in the right. Also is not afraid to spew lies left and right about what happened. Either that or he has that little clue of what is really going on with his "Project."

Its funny how he takes Dota competition as business when its clearly not entirely true. sG getting to the competition isn't because Mark's ability. He takes it as though anyone could join MLG under him. I bet even if Team Kaipi wasn't legally binded to any contract, they could still attend MLG albeit not as sG anymore. This Mark guy is truly arrogant and unreasonable.

The fans chose speed gaming to be invited not because of their name, but because of the players. he thinks that he can just change the lineup and put in some random players. thats not how it works!

So much back peddling on the 'this is just a hobby' topic. He showed his true colors (again) when he said it was just a hobby. The apology meant nothing.

I don't believe he gives two shits about the players of speed gaming. He cares about having the brand, and getting a return on the investment. He just has no idea how to actually make this happen. Having the name Speed Gaming doesn't mean anything - the players matter. He just doesn't understand.

My personal take is that this Marco guy probably started out with his heart in the right place, wanted to get involved in e-sports, got in over his head, and handled his incompetency very poorly. He was infatuated with the idea of becoming an e-sports CEO, but didn't have the time or discipline or temperament or whatever to really follow through on the job. He did a shitty job, didn't own up to it, got mad when people called him out, and then started trying to exact retribution on people who he thought ought to be beholden to him.

This guy brought up all kinds of horse shit about how he makes $150,000 per year, he's two years older than the player therefore they're beneath him, he's Brazilian, he went to jail... just, what?

It reminds me of that comedy bit by Kevin Hart, where any time 'a thug' is involved in a conflict of any kind, they'll catalog their entire life story and their time in prison.

Marco sounds like he couldn't care less about Dota, the "kids", esports, or anything except for his own image. Apparently he's got bigger and better things going on than some hobby. Honestly Speed/Marco/Weir/whatever just reeks of dirty money, especially when he was going on about some fixed bank account.

Full of contradictions and batshit insanity.

'I was in bed the whole day I didn't go out from changing metabolism.. time zone... etc'

'They [EE-sama and aui] were very disrespectful to me'
'I have anger management problems and it's my fault'

'You are being disrespectful by not listening when I'm talking'
