First things first;

Llink to the full thread.

A Huffington Post blog, titled "'Regular Women' In Lingerie Remind Us What Imperfect, Un-Photoshopped Bodies Look Like" shows us some women who aren't models in lingere.

Redditor makes a rant thread linking to the post, and criticizes it calling overweight women "regular", saying that it's downright unhealthy as well.

It's upvoted moderately quickly due to the nature of r/Fitness, a lot of it's members are previously-overweight people who have lost weight and gained physical fitness.

After it hits the frontpage (r/all), it's suddenly flooded by a HUGE number of upvotes & downvotes, along with a slew of new comments.

It hit the front page about an hour after being posted, so I'm assuming most of the comments from UTC 17:10 are the frontpage leaking, because it's seriously bizarre to see this amount of vitriol from both sides in /r/Fitness on any given day.

> Love the double standard. Fat women are beautiful, but fat men are slovenly pigs and probably creeps.

#

>This is what most of my older friends wive's look like. How the fuck can any man settle for such a fat piece of shit?

#

>So you'll get rid of the fatties, but you say nothing about people who have unprotected sex. Just go read Craigslist. Gay, straight, bi, men, women, all having sex. Spreading diseases, and some of those, like AIDS and HIV wind up costing rate payers just as much as some fatty.

#

>It's as if this is the last widely accepted (encouraged!) discrimination on reddit.

It's hard to pick and choose comments, because there's just so much arguing everywhere.

Bonus drama!

/u/wordsandthingies (who is in this thread, I believe) comments about how hard losing weight is while poor, receives a prompt beat down from the mod, and gets very upset about classism or something.

You came on the other subreddit claiming to be interested in a civilized discussion with me, and then came on this subreddit and encouraged public detraction of me.

I'm reporting you to the mods and the admins as someone who is really toeing the lines.

EDIT You are certainly correct, though, that it's upsetting behavior for a moderator of r/fitness to beat someone down who is speaking about the connection between poverty and obesity.

A mayo sandwich didn't make you fat. Eating fucking 300 of them did.

See, I had asked you to stop harassing me several times. I even avoided entering into a discussion about you with someone who had questions. I avoided it quite a bit since I hadn't heard anything else from you.

And now this.

I initially sent a general message to the mods at r/fitness (of which there are many) about my thoughts that the sentiment expressed in an anti-obesity post seemed not to jibe with the rest of the subreddit spirit of not tolerating bigotry against race or gender.

One other moderator responded and politely stated the opinion that the post furthered the purpose of the subreddit.

You, on the other hand, /u/phrakture proceeded to lambaste me with demeaning and derogatory comments in multiple PMs and even by coopting the polite exchange I had with the other moderator.

You took the time to hunt down every comment I made on the thread in regards to the connection between poverty and obesity and proceeded to rant and insult. I asked you numerous times to leave me alone as you seemed harassing.

I even let you have the last word in both PM and comments, and refused to bring you up with someone else who asked about it.

I believe you have now contacted me about 10 times - often with demeaning messages.

As such, I'm copying and pasting this and sending it to Reddit's admins.
