Do you know anyone who does this? How do they justify taking money out of servers pockets? (imgur.com)

  1. Servers aren't entitled to tips.

  2. The gospel message is infinitely more valuable than a couple of bucks.

Justified.

You might try explaining no. 2 to a struggling worker who's fighting for survival with a low wage, no benefits, and monthly choices whether to pay for rent, food, medicine, or electricity, because they can't pay for all of them.

God will provide all their needs if they're born again, and that won't happen til they hear the gospel and believe it.

Sir, many of them have been "born again." Many service workers are already Christian. They go to church. They read their Bible. They believe that Christ is their Lord and Savior, and have accepted Him into their hearts. Do you think they're poor because they don't believe? Do you think they choose to be poor?

People choose to be poor. They're where they are because they're trying to serve two masters, God, and some sort of sin, either fornication / lust, (sex outside of marriage, pornography) drugs (smoking those joints everyday after work) etc. When people follow God with their full and entire hearts, God blesses them so they have abundance. Or did you not read the story of Job, Noah, Abraham, or Joseph to name a few?

And when you believed, did you suddenly become financially stable?

People choose to REMAIN in poverty. You may be born into poverty, but's it's up to you if you want that shackle removed from your ankle. Same with the homo, he may be born with the propensity to lust, but it's up to him to deny his lustful desire to sin and engage in homo sex, and follow Christ instead.

I'm sorry, but this isn't Christianity. This is the vilest form of the American dream dressed up in Christianity's clothes.

> this isn't Christianity.

Define Christianity then.

Oh I see, so when I believe right, and not sin, I am going to be healthy happy and prosperous? WRONG, or did you not read about the apostles who were martyred?

Being martyred for the truth isn't the same as starving. The apostles never went hungry.

They were far from prosperous.

Even if I agreed with you, are you really under the impression that servers are unlikely to have ever heard (the evangelical version of) the Gospel before, and that this is an effective way of sharing it with them?

We need to keep blasting people over and over and over with the gospel message til it gets through to them. Hearing the gospel only once in your life may not be suffice.

Entitled? No, they need to earn their tips. But they DO rely on it for income! Minimum wage for servers is much, much less than other hourly workers.

And while the gospel message IS valuable, it's not going to pay the rent.

How do YOU finance your living expenses? Honestly curious.

God provides me with a good enough job to pay my finances.

Great, then you earn your pay, right? You do the work you are assigned to the best of your ability?

Like you, servers are doing the work they are assigned. They earn an income as well. I really just don't understand your logic - how do they make a living off of minimum wage, when that is supposed to be complemented with tips?

Yes.

Who says they're "supposed to be" complemented with tips?
