What about the Retina Macbook Pro? It's the best Laptop on the market, and will push technology forwards.

It's incredibly light, incredibly thin, pretty damn powerful and has the highest resolution screen you can find. It's an amazing laptop to take to Uni every day without sacrificing power.

Funny, my MSi laptop from last year still has better specs than that overpriced Mac. I will admit it has a nicer screen than mine and better battery life though.

So? I never said it was the most powerful. But I bet mine is thinner and lighter than yours, which is a number 1 priority. It's not overpriced for what it is, the first of its kind.

Congrats on your overpriced Facebook machine. Best computer on the market because its light and thin? Just how dumb are you?

That, and it has a high end i7 and an overclocked 660m.

Might be a priority to you. I don't want a computer I have to be that gentle with. Rugged construction and high end graphics are the top priorities for me.

I hate to say it but if your laptops weight is a #1 priority...do you even lift?

It's complete aluminium, it's not leight. Try having limited space in a bag with books and shit and carrying it to Uni every day. I don't want some shitty inch thick laptop

Eh, I guess you've got a point if you're still in school and cramming it into a bookbag. Personally, I'm only ever using a portable computer if I'm working a job and in that situation, drops/falls happen, and if any piece of equipment can't hold up to abuse (a thin-ass macbook screen would get snapped off in no time), it's immediately useless.

What? You said it was the "best on the market." From that, I expect it to be the most powerful with the most to offer. Not small with a big screen. If I can carry it comfortably, I don't give a fuck if it light. I want it to do awesome things.

A high end i7 and an overclocked 660m? Not exactly a weak machine..

How does your laptop have better specs if two of the most expensive parts, the screen and battery, are inferior?

Perhaps you meant to say that your laptop is "mostly on par" or that it "beats it in some categories" but calling your laptop "better than" a 2880x1800 laptop is pretty fucking funny.

Because your on a gaming sub, we care about the CPU and GPU not battery life and not thiness, i use a desktop, and for 1700usd my machine will blow away any laptop spec wise, I dont care that its not portable, or that its largest battery is a CMOS battery... in terms of graphical and cpu power a macbook is very overpriced.

>in terms of graphical and cpu power a macbook is very overpriced.

That's like saying that in terms of people-moving capacity, Porsche's are very overpriced.

A Mac isn't supposed to be a graphical beast, and the only Mac's they advertise as computational beasts are not the laptops.

So your machine has some notable and obvious lacks, just like the Mac does, and just like you write off a Mac's benefits, they write off your benefits, so why do you have to insist that "yours is better"?

Personally, I'd rather have a 2880x1800 monitor in a laptop than I would a beefier GPU, so in my book, the Macbook is better than yours. (And seeing how laptops are inferior to desktops for gaming in terms of performance and price, I think many people would choose to have a sexy laptop that lasts a long time and come home to the gaming rig!)

"Looks to make sure hes still on r/games"

Your machine is not a gaming platform, which is what I care about it in a computer, hardware defeciencies are unaccptable in gaming when it comes to CPU and GPU, for facebook and reddit I can use a shitty laptop and get the same experience as your 2000usd macbook...

Fine: My cheap gaming PC is better than your laptop in every single way. It's faster, has more memory, better graphics, a larger SSD. It's just better. Your laptop is shitty at playing games because it's a laptop, and if it's not shitty, it was overpriced. I bet you're one of those people who barely gets 1.5 hours out of your "laptop" (all while demeaning the 8+ hours on a Mac), hook it to the wall wherever you go and treat it as a desktop anyway.

God forbid I like a big battery and big resolution on laptops!

Gaming on laptops sucks anyway, the hallmark of people who can't be buggered to spend half the money on a gaming desktop that is twice as good.
