Oh, so you asshats found my thread. Explains it. Glad I could entertain you.
I was totally on your side until you turned into a giant ass.
So what you're saying is you disliked him immediately.
The thread being linked to SRD has nothing to do with your comments in /r/food.
No, but it explains why my completely non-controversial comments to people about my sauce recipe have been downvoted. I swear, that guy was much more of an asshole than I was, I feel like you subreddit drama people just pick a side completely at random. That guy was waaaaaaay more condescending and assholish than I was.
I can see posting it here because you get your jollies watching strangers feign butt hurt, but why do you have to arbitrarily downvote every comment? That seems retarded.
Motherfucker you're calling people pretentious while shitting on suggestions. It's not a mystery what happened.
People aren't supposed to, and I'd like to think most of us don't, but it's an inevitable consequence of linking threads that there will be some assholes that ignore the rules and vote on stuff.
Also, I try to be impartial, and you definitely came off as worse than the other guy.
>Yeah, I have one suggestion: gross. Oven ready pasta noodles are fucking disgusting and are for amateurs. This is my Sicilian grandmother's recipe and I've been cooking for 25 years.
>EDIT: Seriously, if you're gonna use those no-boil noodles, you might as well use cottage cheese instead of ricotta and top the thing with sliced american cheese, because anyone that would eat those noodles isn't gonna know any better anyway.
You lost it right there. It's not that you're wrong necessarily, because I don't know or care enough about noodles to weigh in. But the way you took a harmless suggestion and called it "fucking disgusting" cooupled with the edit insulting his suggestion further pretty much ensured you lost the crowd regardless of what comments followed.
Ah, ok. I honestly thought that popular opinion on "no-boil" noodles was exactly as I had stated, and the hive mind would agree with me. I sorely misjudged the hive mind in this case. I also forgot that I had posted in /r/food and not /r/foodporn, which tends to have better taste.
The thing is, whether or not you were right about it, you still came off as condescending to someone offering you a suggestion.
If you'd gone with "Those have never been my style. I've always found that they end up with a lower quality result, so I try to stay away from them," you could have been right and have popular opinion with you.
Looking down on harmless suggestions is not a strategy that usually plays well anywhere on reddit.
Jeez fella, you sure are full of helpful ad-vice!
I'm gonna run everything past you from now on!
DAMMIT! there I go again! Sorry, it's just that condescending is like my default setting...
The thing is, it's insulting to me to offer me advice. I'm really fucking good at what I do, and I think it's perfect, otherwise, i wouldn't put it out in front of strangers. I didn't say, 'Please tell me how to White Trash Up this beloved childhood favorite'. I could have ignored that guy, but then some other poor slob might have thought it was a good idea!
The worst fucking part with the downvote brigade is that I can't even reply properly now, I'm being throttled like a obnoxious toddler.
> I'm being throttled like a obnoxious toddler.
Well, you're behaving like one. Like people responding to the thread are supposed to magically know that offering advice will offend your delicate sensibilities?
Everyone that replied to you in that entire subthread doesn't give two shits about your canned pasta or whatever it was about. They just want to argue with you because you acted like a dick to some random guy who only innocently wanted to white trash up your beloved childhood favorite.
>No, but it explains why my completely non-controversial comments to people about my sauce recipe have been downvoted. You were postulating wrong, I thought clue you in.
It seems like I should have let this guy's response stand, and not waste my time explaining.
You came here asking why you're getting downvoted. You ASKED. Then when you're told, you act like a prick.
I haven't even read the other thread, much less voted on anything there, but if you act there like you do here, then I'm not surprised that people downvote you.
And there's no brigade. I'm reading the comments here and there are people criticizing the other guy as well. There's no hivemind. There are just people.
> The thing is, it's insulting to me to offer me advice. I'm really fucking good at what I do, and I think it's perfect, otherwise, i wouldn't put it out in front of strangers.
Too fucking bad. People aren't all the same. There's no such thing as perfect, since people have different tastes. If you're insulted by someone suggesting that your shit isn't perfect, then you shouldn't be surprised when people call you condescending. What else would you call it?
My original post was almost 400+ before you guys showed up, now it's barely 330. Downvote brigade.
More people saw it? There are 80,621 members of this sub. If we were going to brigade, you'd be well into the negatives.
Let me guess, you're insulted by the possibility that someone doesn't like your comments, because you think they're perfect?
"Thanks, but I actually don't care for no-boil noodles."
Is that hard?
> The thing is, it's insulting to me to offer me advice.
Dude you got problems.
> ..it's insulting to me to offer me advice.
I'm gonna insult you again than, and strongly advice you to seek professional help. Because that is some seriously fucked up attitude.
> I'm being throttled like a obnoxious toddler.
It would help if you didn't act like one.
How do you not understand that you sound like an asshole? Your shitty attitude permeates every single comment you've made on this topic. The fact that you are so confused about the downvotes is hilarious, you are so obviously confrontational and condescending.
Also I like how you tout your karma like it means anything but you disregard all the upvotes the "poor slobs" have and all the downvotes you have. Maybe you are right about the pasta, I don't know - you are getting downvoted because you seem like a huge douchebag.
Damn dude, just because you find something perfect, doesn't mean that it is.
And by putting it out in front of strangers, you're welcoming any sort of critique--postive or negative.
> which tends to have better taste.
And the hauteur continues.
;)
I knew one of you smartie-pants over here in subreddit drama would catch that. Eventually.
Yes, your John McCain-like hindsight is truly an illuminating gift.
With respect, that photo isnt good enough for r/foodporn.
No, it isn't, at all. I know good foodporn

Talks about good taste. Calls no-boil noodles disgusting.
Defends the use of premade lasagne sheets and accuses people of being trolls when they tell you lasagne is greatly improved with fresh pasta.
lol
Devoid of context, that does show me in a bad light. But the real troll was the asshole who showed up, said how awesome no-cook pasta was, but then insulted my grandma for not making her own. So quick to jump on a bandwagon, you missed that. Plus his tone was completely condescending. Fuck that guy.
not really. he was actually pretty polite. he even said it looked delicious. just because he suggested a method that might be faster doesn't mean he thinks your grandmother is a stupid cunt. you wayyyy overreacted.
honestly, i think you might have some anger issues, maybe some paranoia, some insecurity? you flipped out on someone who was just trying to join your discussion. you were the only one doing the things you're accusing the other guy of doing... seriously, read the posts again and think about it for a minute. is this who you want to be?
other guy: Looks delicious... I have 2 suggestions
you: gross...fucking disgusting...amateurs...I've been cooking for 25 years.
why couldn't you just kindly explain why you wouldn't go with his suggestions, without unnecessary insults? and why are you so desperate to prove your expertise? linking to all of your posts in the sub, really, dude? conversations aren't competitions. you don't have to win. you can just talk and be a person. get some help, man.
I think you're missing the entire point. The person initially praised your food, and made two suggestions which you were free to ignore. Instead you balk at them and then brag about being the top post in a subreddit.
Your comments were being downvoted long before SRD touched this.
>Looks delicious... I have 2 suggestions: (lists reasonable suggestions)
.
>Yeah, I have one suggestion: gross. Oven ready pasta noodles are fucking disgusting and are for amateurs. This is my Sicilian grandmother's recipe and I've been cooking for 25 years.
THAT is why you are being downvoted. You were a dick for no good reason at the top of the thread, anything you said after that was meaningless.
Ha ha, you're fucking delusional dude. Some guy complimented your food and made a simple suggestion and you shat all over him and you think the reason you're getting downvoted is because some meta sub singled you out? Holy shit, unbelievable.
Please keep commenting. This is outstanding.
hands -Poe- some popcorn
> I feel like you subreddit drama people just pick a side completely at random.
Read the comments here. It's not random. Everyone who comments explains a little bit about what they think. You can disagree all you want, since your cooking is perfect, but it's not random.
> my completely non-controversial comments
rofl
Well, it was at the top of /r/food...
Just wanted to bring some lighter material to this sub, I do apologize that it was at your expense.
It's cool. That guy just pissed me off, ya know?
It happens. : )
