/r/worldnews moderator, BipolarBear0, was previously caught in the act of posting anti-semitic content to /r/conspiracy, now openly admits to what he did claiming it was an "experiment". This is in clear violations of reddit's Terms of Service. It's time for him to be banned, accordingly. (reddit.com)

Note that BipolarBear0 has been banned from /r/conspiracy so Rule 10 is not applicable.

Quite frankly, I would be shocked if he weren't.

What I find disturbing: How can reddit's administrators explain not taking action after this conduct has been exposed and openly admitted to?

The only reasonable solution: Ban his account from reddit, as they would anyone else who did what he has done.

I was shadowbanned for making a trolling FAKE private subreddit, with zero content. Meanwhile this fuck moderates /r/news lol. Such a joke

Yeah, it's pretty fucked up. Perhaps if enough of us report his conduct to the administrators, now that he admitted to it, they'll finally do something about it.

It seems the story is already making the rounds in independent media here and here. This is not good for reddit. It's time for reddit to let him go.

They shouldn't and really couldn't. Blatant disregard for rules even by his own admission. The only positive here is the user posts putting things into perspective about the user base on r/conspiracy. In many respects it is scant conciliation for what /u/BipolarBear0 has set out to do, it's wrong on so many levels.

I hope this is reported to the reddit admins in numbers, how the fuck can this type of behaviour be accepted??

Good question. I'm wondering the same thing. It's in their hands now. Either they a) do the right thing & take appropriate action, or b) reveal they've engaged in selective enforcement/favoritism, willfully allowing certain users to violate the rules with impunity, and allow a subsequent shitstorm of backlash to commence.

Or c) do nothing. My money is firmly on c.

Well c) would basically amount to b), technically.

Possibly.

He should be banned from reddit in its entirety.

Along with all of the other user names he has no doubt cultivated - and is likely using to mod other subs.

If he wants to come back, let him start from scratch.

Maybe a stupid question to some but is there a way to ban someone's ISP address?

I can't say with certainty - but have heard that Reddit admins can do just that.

Even then, there are ways around it (different computer, service provider, etc) but it would create a pain in the ass for our cuddly buddy - and (assuming all associated user names were also banned) he'd still have to start from scratch.

Maybe others can provide more info?

You can IP ban someone. Might lead to future issues but in his case who cares

They would have to have a dedicated IP address. If they banned a specific octet it would block other legitimate users in it. Example would be 286.443.178.xxx. It's like cutting off a whole zip code instead of a single house.

Shouldn't this thread be deleted then? It's pointless if he was already banned. OP should have just messaged the mods instead of trying to start a witch hunt anyway.

It's not pointless. The point is that he should be banned reddit-wide, not just in this sub.

What part of the TOS did he break? He didn't break any site wide rules.

He posted some BS here to see if it was upvoted. People do that all the time. I don't see anything in the TOS or Rules that says that's a no-no. And even if it was it doesn't mean it's an auto-ban.

>He posted some BS here to see if it was upvoted.

He didn't just post it here. He also posted a link to his submission here in that other sub so people could vote brigade. That's clearly vote manipulation as explained in Reddit's rules.

If SRS and the vast array of meta-subs don't get banned for linking I doubt he would.

People get shaddow-banned for less, I don't see why this particular user should have special privileges.

Perhaps it's because that particular person does have special privileges.

The son of a bitch banned me from a couple of subs without me even making posts in those subs -- he banned me because he didn't like the posts I was making in other subs. If that isn't reason to kick his sorry ass off Reddit, I don't know what is.
