Took me an embarrassingly long time to realize who he was.
You really just cannot resist sticking your dick up in other mods' business, can you?
I guess not, no.
Looks like our mutual friend /u/allthefoxes shares my opinion.

y u do dis to me.
I do think, persoanally, that if they want their content removed, it should be.
But, its not my subreddit, and im not EFS. If he wants to leave it up, thats his call. I may not agree with it, but oh well.
If he wants to make a post calling them out on it too, then Oh Well to that too. If I were him, I would've done things differently. But I'm not him, and I'll respect his choices.
Now, if you'll excuse me..
munches popcorn
I should take a few pages out of your book, specifically the part about being quiet.
I don't know who that is, but if you're bragging that he agrees with you you should notice that he immediately changed his mind after he heard EFS's opinion.
That's an inside joke between me and the other guy from a long time ago.
Foxes didn't argue as much as I did, you are right.
While I've got you here, I noticed you had a problem with him releasing modmail. Why is that? I can't think of anything in Reddit's rules that say you're not allowed to, which to me means that there's no expectation of privacy.
Yeah, there's really no rule about it, but it's something you're just not supposed to do.
Oh, thanks. I was wondering if it was part of moddiquette but I couldn't find it for some reason.
Because he said that it was up to people posting stuff to keep stuff private by using pms and email. That's from our argument here in SRD. I thought it was hypocritical of him to say that if he posted a pm in a sticky post.
I see your point, though I still think there's a difference between modmail and a pm. A pm has the expectation of privacy because it has "private" right in the name. Modmail doesn't, and for that matter neither does email, so if anything I would say that he's wrong in thinking that emails are inherently private. It's all sort of one big grey area, which is why I don't think this argument really has a right and a wrong side, and why I think it's pointless to try to enforce your own morality within that grey.
I'm not trying to enforce anything, I am saying what I think is horrible moderation policy.
Well luckily you're free to not browse TiA.
EFS is actually a decent poster, despite modding subs which contain quite a few terrible posters.
I can tell he cares a lot about content. But making a sticky post like that calling out a small private forum is one thing I think no good mod should ever do. It's using your subreddit as an army.
Eh, I give them a pass on this, tbh. He removed the offending content, but there is no reason to expect mods to enforce banning links to a site at the request of a site owner. Don't get me wrong, I think that TiA users are about 50% OK, and 50% aggressively awful. I think that TiA is generally full of tired "privilege checking" jokes, but I think EFS acted as respectfully as one could expect in this situation.
I don't think they did, if they leaked modmail and called so much attention to such a small thing. The original post there was not successful, and they made a stickied post about it.
TiA is essentially ruining that small community if they are exposing it so much.
Streisand effect.
What? Bullshit. You made a fucking sticky post.
Yes I did. Because it's funny.
Then we're right back to saying that you have no moral compass and are disrespecting a whole community for cheap laughs. And, to add, you were being wholly hypocritical.
Well then I'm right back to saying you're judging me as a person based on meaningless internet drama. You have no idea how much of a moral compass I have.
No, it's a pretty good description of the Streisand effect. The moderators of that forum tried to get him to take down a post with less than ten upvotes with some bullshit legal claim, which then resulted in EFS making it vastly more popular. It's a fairly good example of it.
It's a manufactured Streisand Effect.
Yeah all of them are, I don't see your point.
what the fuck is up with the votes here today? Both sides of our conversation are downvoted and you're sitting at +5? The hell is going on?
My username is recognised here, that's pretty much all there is to it.
Also I say flippant funny things. That tends to get more upvotes than tedious arguments.
your cheerleaders are upset that people are having a discussion :-\
Why are you assuming the people upvoting me are the same people downvoting you?
