It's always the mods of subreddits like /r/cringepics or /r/tumblrinaction that try to blow things like this out of proportion. I mean, yeah, the person asking for their stuff to be taken down did it in a stupid way, but the friendly thing to do would be to respect someone's wishes for privacy. It seems like this website is meant to be a safe haven, so for /r/tumblrinaction to link to it us ruining their whole site.
That's like me throwing a hissy fit over SRD linking to TiA.
As I said inside the thread: if you don't want people reading your bullshit, don't post it on the internet. Having to make an account to view a forum thread isn't "protection", anyone can make a forum account. The information is public.
I am someone who cares a lot for privacy, so what I do is take responsibility for this by not posting too many personal things online in the first place. The incorrect way to go about a need for privacy is publicly posting things you consider private online then threatening anyone who notices it.
You have to make an account on their site to see the content, as the person said. I know that anyone can do that, but the intent of their site is for privacy.
It's up to the people posting to worry about their stuff being seen, sure, but when you have mods of some other community refusing your request to help save your community, there is a horrible level of disrespect going on.

Yes, and when you make an account it apparently tells you in the T&C not to share content outside of the site.
I already said that anyone can make an account. I'm just angry that some reddit mods think it's more important to have funny content on their subreddit than for this site to have a good environment.
T&C's mean fuck all legally speaking and TiA is not obliged to follow them at all.
I see this as a freedom issue. Freedom of information is paramount. Besides, if we just deleted shit every time someone cried to us we'd have no content.
Did I mention legal recourse? No. I've been talking about respect. Every reasonable person online knows that T&C's don't hold up legally.
If content is more important to you than respect, than I don't want to be a part of any of your subreddits.
You are arguing in favor of morality policing. How about we use EFS's moral compass and we stop arguing.
If he has one, sure.
Freedom is more important to me than forum members not wanting people to see their precious posts.
Respect is earned not given.
Someone turned up your empathy levels to 11.
The username of the guy arguing with me is exactly what I think about him and the mods that pull this crap on reddit.
If you expect me to be insulted by that you are mistaken.
I expected it to entertain you, honestly.
It did achieve that goal, yes.
I'm glad. Still don't agree with you, though.
