A man in /r/relationships tells a widow to "stop thinking [her issues] are more important than anyone else" and proceeds to tell her to stop "playing the victim". Posters react accordingly. (np.reddit.com)

Holy shit. This guy says he's 50, and he has the tact of a 15 year old. I'm guessing he's never lost somebody close. Death isn't something you "get over." When you lose somebody who's such a huge part of your life, it is incredibly terrible. It's an extension of who you are that is suddenly gone forever. To tell somebody to get over it, jesus christ. It's an amazing display of ignorance and failure to understand.
He seems like a star example of what happens when somebody refuses to grow out of their edginess. I imagine that a good deal of redditors will end up like this.
Edit: Looks like he had a profoundly shitty childhood. That probably had something to do with it.
Oh shut the fuck up, the both of you. All of my family is dead. ALL OF THEM. Mom, dad, uncles, two sisters. You think I ain't been there?
Edgy? I lived in a tent when I was 17. Like, in the woods. I kept going to school, worked, and ate squirrels a lot. I retired when I was 40.
You kids. Seriously, get over yourselves. That bitch isn't going to date for 10 years at least. Did you read her post? Only a beta with the full spaghetti is going to go for that shit. This isn't "OMG he's being so hard core". This is real "holy fuck girl, you're way out of line".
I was honestly trying to offer advise she could use. She wanted none of it. I'm ok with that. Don't try to judge my entire life off one pity post for some poor bitch complaining about widow haters.
I've paid more taxes than most of you will ever earn. That doesn't make me better, but it sure as fuck puts your shit in perspective.
> I've paid more taxes than most of you will ever earn.
Damn, you sound like a good person. Also, calling her a "bitch" kinda showcases what the others are saying- you show an incredible lack of tact.
> I've paid more taxes than most of you will ever earn.
"I spent more money on spilt liquor..."

So you mean don't do to you what you did to that poster?
Also alpha and betas aren't actually a thing...
And lastly, if the things you're talking about "don't make you better or special" why bring them up at all? Clearly you do feel they make you better, since you did bring them up.
