It's not that I don't understand bisexuality it's that I don't agree with the definition.
HERRRRRRR DERRRRRRRRR I'm ignant
We don't get to pick our own definitions for words. That would make it impossible to communicate, as we can see in the linked thread.
my face while reading your posts
that's the face a made reading this post
Think of it in terms of sets. You have a set of people attracted to the opposite gender, another set of people attracted to the same gender, and their intersection is people attracted to both. We call the intersection 'bisexual'. So a person such as Frank Underwood is in that intersection. Yes, he's in the 'gay' set, but that's only half the picture.
I don't understand what problem you have with this definition. It seems rather straightforward?
His problem is that he feels threatened by bisexuality. He rationalizes gay people by creating a sharp divide in his mind -- you are either 100% gay or 100% straight. He can feel secure in his heterosexuality because gays are on that side of the line, and he's on this side. That's the only way he knows how to be "tolerant": separate but equal.
The existence of bisexuality invalidates this whole scheme. The sharp divide is replaced by a big grey area. If he can't put up a fence between hetero and homo, he feels less secure. Almost every time I've seen someone deny bisexuality, this has been the reason.
it's not that I don't understand, it's that I disagree regardless of established terms. I remember venn diagrams from grammar school.
Yeah, okay, but why do you disagree?
I just do.
Maybe this will help to explain my position. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hym_Gc-P7BU
lol, at this point you're just arguing because you committed yourself and don't want to admit you're wrong.
I'm arguing because I've been repeatedly misunderstood. I've clearly explained my interpretation and instead of accepting that, the self righteous reddit hive mind has substituted its interpretation. I should have known better than to disagree with popular opinion. And if it wasn't for this snitching ass punk who had to make this post to highlight his own tolerance and understanding, this would have been much less of an issue.
I feel like I have to defend myself from people talking shit to make themselves feel better. I still dont think I'm wrong and I haven't been convinced by any of these vanilla, paint by numbers responses I've received. But it's all good though.
I'm sorry, but according to "my interpretation" everything you wrote above basically means "Damn I can't admit I was wrong; I'll look like a moron!" Don't worry, you already do.
Ok bro. You definitely understand me, better even than I understand myself. I keep responding because I feel like if anyone takes the time to write me then I should do the same regardless of the situation.
I respect your opinion. I kindly ask you respect mine. Agree to disagree.

REAL TALK
Ah, someone getting posted to SRD and continuing the argument in the SRD thread. The epitome of class.
someone defames my character unbeknownst to me in order to make themselves look better and when I find out I'm supposed do to what?
I didn't even know this pussy, snitching, no backbone ass sub existed until this post. I bet punk motherfuckers like you who subscribe to this sub would see someone talking shit about you and just turn away and ignore it. I'm not that way. I'm not bitch made like you. You're the type of dude that would have pissed your pants if somebody made a post about you on this sub. You're the type of dude that would have deleted the original post long before some snitch made a post on this sub.
Fuck class, this is the internet, I'll save class for real life. You're a bitch. Real talk.
You call the guy a snitch for blowing up your spot because you said some dumb ass shit on a public forum? Welcome to the world. Or are you just buttsore because people are holding you accountable for your unsupportable beliefs?
I said it in a public forum yes. But I didn't expect to have it submitted on this punk ass subreddit. This sub is a community of snitches and voyeurs.
People holding me accountable: Right just like I said. Self righteous, nosey motherfuckers I wasn't talking to. They could have just seen what I read, shook their head and downvoted me. But someone had to make themselves feel superior and make a post on a whole new forum about me. That's punk shit.
Do you need some cooling ointment, honey? Fill out the form so we know what to get for you!

I figured you would know considering the context of what I have repeatedly said but since you need the help, Patrice O'neal. The black guy that thinks most everything they discuss is gay.
I'm fine with people having a difference of opinion, but the problem comes with you disagreeing with a definition of a word at it's root.
The definition of bi- literally means dual. It comes from Latin, earlier dui-, related to Greek di- 'two' and Sanskrit dvi- 'doubly, having two'.
Applying this as a prefix to sexuality literally means dual sexuality or having two sexualities. So by disagreeing with the definition, you're attempting to say that the root and structure of where the word stems from is incorrect.
ok. thanks for the linguistics lesson. freshman year English is really imprinting on you, is that your major?
