Ergo, authors, scientists, and philosophers saying things about god is the reason humanity is not still in the "middle Age"

Suggesting strongly that religion, and by easy inference Christianity, was the thing that authors, scientists, and philosophers were "saving" Europe from in speaking up and (in your view) ending the "middle Age"

Thus further suggesting that that same religion was the cause of it to begin with, or at least the reason it continued for whatever length of time.
