I dunno if I can comment since I would not lump myself together with racists but, while it would have been several magnitudes worse had he been convinced, the mere fact that the trial was paraded through the limelight and treated as anything more than a man justly defending himself against a belligerent teenager -- all because the colors of their skin -- makes me really frustrated.
Of course my frustration isn't going to leave me hurtling slurs at someone like Nelson Mandela, but if a man like Zimmerman (who's worked with black folks, dated a black woman, tutors black children) cannot protect himself without having his name dragged through the mud to the point where people (including famous directors) are (in)directly calling for his extrajudicial murder... well, what the fuck has happened to society, you know?

I followed the case fairly closely, if you have some evidence that was apparently overlooked by the prosecutor, judge, offensive legal team and the media, I'd love to see it.
