A little dustup in /r/IAmA as /u/ayehli calls out fantasy author R.A. Salvator for allegedly hitting on his girlfriend at a convention 15 years ago. (np.reddit.com)

Guy seems quite legit and the fanboy pukefest bullying that came after is quite sickening.

And I find it here as well.

Eh, honestly what do you expect. Even if he asked her for a drink, it would not be worth even the possibility of violence, and to bring it up 15 years later... I mean WTF?

The idea that someone doing the standard 30 second "Hi, What is your name, How are you, I'm so glad you are a fan" signing conversation is aware enough of "familiar incidental touching" of people waiting in line to actually notice attached status is also kind of insane. I mean dear god, that is incredibly self centered.

Irrelevant to the reaction from the users. And look at my own downvotes because of pointing that out. Reddit is fucking itself up big time.

Is it really irrelevant if the guy seems like an asshole with a massively inflated sense of his own importance?

I can assure you if it had been stated in a less insane way about a more recent (and important) event that it would be fine, hell it might even become a question reddit demanded to be answered.

Yes, it obviously is.

The fact anyone upvoted you is fucking hysterical. You just wrote if it was a different question it might have been answered.

No fucking shit.

Oh no it could be the same question (do you normally hit on 20 year old girls?), but it would just have to have a different context. Say the story was he repeatedly asked her if she wanted to see his sword or whatever

This is cringe. Yeah, I can read. If it was a more important question it might be okay. So, a totally different question.

What a spanner.

This reaction is really putting me off this site.

You are just wrong, they were wrong, the user was probably but that is not what I am on about.

Sad little people.

No apparently you can't read, or infer context. The question can stay the context must differ.

Also, considering you are a one day old account that talks of cringepics I'm fairly certain this isn't your primary account anyways. So either you got sbanned (in which case, take a freaking hint), or you other account has such a bad rep you can't use it. Regardless, please be put off this site; you are not needed, LawrenceofAssrapia.

Enjoying the exchange between you two, but those arnt the only reasons someone might not use a main account. I personally delete my account annually and start over as to avoid getting anything more then an incredibly minor internet footprint. Dosnt mean I'm doing bad things or trolling or have been shadow banned.

Oh I know there are more than two reasons really. It was a rhetorical strategy to try to get him to offer an explanation (which worked ). It is like when the police detective says "Well you lured this little girl into van, and in my experience that means one of two things, you were either going to rape her, and then kill her, or kill her and then rape her". Statistically it is likely a number of lesser outcomes are more probable. The goal isn't to win the point, but to get the perp to defend themselves using their actual reasons, when the best strategy for the perp would be to ignore the issue, or just flatly deny wrongdoing.

I'm not actually a huge fan of the strategy, but I wanted to see if I could shake something loose. I mean obviously it wasn't a proper new account.

Deleting your account annually is probably a good idea that I will never do, and not just because I love badges.

No, I can, I quoted you quite simply so stop trying. Please. Enough of this shit. Admit when you are wrong instead of cowering.

No my other account is old and in very good standing, I just made a promise not to use it until the end of september.

So, now you are telling me to leave the site? Is that it? Because I have a different opinion to you? Really?

Reddit is going to shit, because of stuff exactly like this.

edit: essentially you are now bullying me

I am apparently bullying you by cowering. I am da man.

I have difficulty seeing many ways you can promise to stay off a reddit account, and not be breaking the spirit of that promise by posting using another account.

The whole thing is childish, that's what makes it good fodder for this subreddit.

True, but I like to add my own pepper.
