I'm convinced the average internet user has been attacked as a child by mlp figurines.
It's the only reason why most people have a "die brony scum" reaction
The reaction is pretty ridiculous. Maybe they're all angry because they "accidentally" clicked on an R34 MLP link and now they can never un-see the contents therein.
They take nature's most noble, dignified, and majestic creature, then they feminize it, infantilize it and eroticize it.
It's pretty uncool.
> then they feminize it, infantilize it
Pretty sure it was Hasbro who's responsible for doing that in the 80's.
You know, when they first invented MLP and marketed it as a toy line for girls.
>eroticize it.
/r/rule34 and their 73,000 subscribers would like to meet you and let you behold the wonders of people eroticising cartoons on the internet.
Just google "Frankie Foster" without safesearch on and you'll probably see just how common rule34 can be.
> You know, when they first invented MLP and marketed it as a toy line for girls.
Right, back when it was targeted at and solely consumed by female children. Makes a tiny bit more sense, is a tiny bit more palatable.
> rule34
Most of them aren't doing it to nature's most dignified creature, and yes, if it's a children's cartoon, I am equally disdainful.
When did we all agree that horses are "nature's most dignified creature?" What's an example of an undignified creature (you know, besides humans beings?).
We didn't all agree, but it is a very commonly held stereotype that runs through all of history.
> Stereotypes of Animals
> Horses
>The noble, brave, faithful, strong and fast horse
> Horses are traditionally seen as noble creatures since humans use them for transport. In quite a few countries, like Great Britain, eating horse meat is therefore seen as a taboo. Many languages describe the horse's paws as "legs", an honor that few other animals receive.
> The word horse power.
> The mythological creatures centaurs and unicorns
> Princes or swashbucklers will always travel by horse to underline all their positive characteristics.
> Examples of noble horses: Bayard, Black Beauty, Rocinante, Mr. Ed, Flicka, The Black Stallion, Trigger, Silver, Jolly Jumper, Pegasus, Sleipnir, Quick Draw McGraw, Toronado, ...
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you are not aware of this, but ponies are actually not the same thing as horses.
I'm not sure ponies have ever been considered "nature's most dignified creature", or even very dignified at all for that matter. Before the recent MLP crazy, my entire impression of ponies were "cute animals that rich little girls wanted for their birthdays".
Regardless, this is such a bizarre and weird point for you to be arguing. I've seen a lot of different ways people have objected to the show, but I never expected one as silly as yours.
Maybe Bucklar is a horse
You watch, and are in fact currently defending the practice of watching MLP, and you're chastising someone for their reasoning being 'silly.'
There's nothing inherently wrong with being silly, but think about that for a second.
I wish I could understand what was going on in your head when you choose the arguments you do.
I think we can both agree that someone thinking MLP is "serious business" would be a warning sign that something is at least a little bit wrong with that person. Because it's silly. When watching an obviously silly tv show, people should at the very least admit it is silly.
I would hope we could both agree that someone thinking an argument like yours is serious is also a bit of a warning sign. Because it is also silly. So very silly. You thinking your argument is serious is akin to an MLP fan telling everyone it's deep, thoughtful, mature cartoon that only the most introspective of adults can fully enjoy.
If you were intentionally being a little silly in your choice of arguments, well, sorry I suppose. That would at least make a billion times more sense.

> The word horse power.
I don't think this is a horse supremacy thing, but more a 'needed something common to compare our fancy new engines to'-thing.
Fair point, I just copied and pasted the list.
>feminize it
How awful! That's like, the worst thing you can do to something
I think ascribing a gendered quality to an animal is asinine.
You don't have to agree with me, but please don't imply I'm just a secret misogynist or something.
I'm not calling you a misogynist, I just thought it was funny that you put that in the list of awful things they've done. It really seems like an non-issue though, they're pretty stereotypically an animal that girls like, are Thundercats an example of toxic masculitinty?
I have, at best, a peripheral awareness of Thundercats. From what I understand, there are female Thundercats and the male ones weren't pictures of masculinity. If it does depict cats as inherently male, yes, I still think that's asinine. I wouldn't characterize it as 'toxic masculinity' though, just as I wouldn't characterize femininity as toxic.
Ascribing a gender to an entire species is something 5 year olds do. And it's fine when 5 year olds do it or celebrate in it.
>They take nature's most noble, dignified, and majestic creature,
An easily startled giant hoofed beast that shits everywhere? I would have said some sort of bird or sea creature.
You're talking in nonsense, and I simply won't respond to it.
Dolphins > Horses. Provemewrong.jpg
Do you prefer thisone.jpg or thisone.jpg?
Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you.
If by anything better you mean everything worse. Getting enslaved my mankind doesn't work out in their favour. Also, the ocean isn't a naturally tenable position for a horse, it's probably shitting itself right now and will probably drown. They're stupid too. Dolphins have names for each other. Horses just have shitting everywhere. They can jump over things, but they need a human to ride them else they can't figure it out. Dolphins jump for fun even when people aren't around. Even whales do and they are huge. They aren't even good modes of transport.

How about you don't say that.
Ponies are nature's most dignified creature? Having seen a Shetland Pony in person, I can tell you, you are objectively wrong.
You clearly have never seen Lil' Sebastian.
