Christ. This has been a tough week to be a black person on reddit.
Yeah, it's pretty annoying. Can't go anywhere without somebody posting a bunch of stats saying "this is why black people are destroying america".
Can you point me to the person saying "This is why black people are destroying america" in that thread because I can't find it. Admittedly I didn't search the heavily down voted comments.

Have you not seen the stormfront copypasta with the racist statistics about how black peple are responsible for all crime in the US and if we got rid of them we wouldn't have crime issues? There are people on reddit saying that America doesn't have a crime issue it has a race issue.
Now the issue with saying that these sentiments are shared by reddit is that the defaults are heavily astro turfed by Stormfront at times when they believe they'll be able to attract new shit heads. So it's not like these ideas are organically sprouting up.
That said there are some people on racist that are saying generally racist things in the defaults and there are also people that are saying things that are insensitive, but they don't have context to understand why what they said is insensitive.
TL;DR Reddit has a race issue. It's partially manufactured and partially due to the demographic. It's also a slightly overstated on progressive subs like SRD.

I literally couldn't find a comment anywhere near as racist as your example. At least not one that was above -5. I have a hard time finding one in the majority of threads. I think the people in SRD must have moral superiority tattooed on their dicks to believe the fiction they create about reddit.

I don't think he was being intentionally antagonizing - I only know about the "BUGS" aka Stormfront copypasta because whenever someone posts a link with black people and crime it comes up and brings drama. And because I am a terrible person I am always attracted to said drama.

Well, I popped by those Star Wars threads to see SRD using heavily downvoted posts as proof reddit is racist. If racism racism was regularly upvoted they could just jerk over those posts.
