>The protesters/rioters are all 100% wrong on this one yet the media is coddling them and allowing them to think they have a semblance of a point
It would be really swell if protesting and rioting would stop being automatically conflated.
Last night protestors blocked I35 in Dallas and /r/Dallas was enraged. One person advocated running protestors over and got upvoted for it

Agree with them or not, that's just incredibly stupid. I find it hard to take people who think standing on a busy highway is a good idea seriously. Plus, if I were stuck in traffic because of that I wouldn't think "Hmmm, they have some good ideas." No, I'd think "Wow, these people are extremely annoying."
Marching in streets/holding up traffic is nothing novel or new in protesting, and is pretty tame all things considered. Already the group was getting concessions out of the incoming DA (a Republican one too) so it's hard to argue it was not effective
There's a big difference between blocking a surface street and blocking (at least 6 lanes of) a 12-lane Interstate Highway close to some of the biggest hospitals in the region.
Considering the vast majority of the protestors moved when the police asked them to, I don't think even the most hardcore would have objected to getting out of the way of an ambulance.
It has nothing to do with whether or not an ambulance could get through that exact spot, but when you shut down the biggest, fastest road through the heart of the city, you affect and gridlock traffic everywhere. Hell, even an accident that shuts down two lanes on that road (which isn't rare) slows down traffic several miles away.
Considering that this happened in several cities and no one appears to have died from it, your point appears to be moot.
No one has died (which I can't prove) therefore a 12-lane interstate highway is exactly the same as a two-to-four lane surface street.
k
Prove that someone died. You're the one positing all these hypotheticals, how about something concrete? Also DPD had plenty of manpower to clear the streets fairly quickly if it was absolutely necessary
