Oh look that thing that happens in every destiny thread is happening
>No one is like, "Wow, that's a funny joke," they're more like, "Oh, he wants to really beat that girl in the match."
"Hey Dave, tell everyone your rape joke! Oh man, you guys are gonna love this."
last i checked no one got hauled off to prison for making a rape joke. people telling you are a shitty person for doing it is not impeding your constitooshunal rights
"but MUH RIGHTS"
The drama is that some guy got kicked out of a tournament for the tweet.
did you reply to the wrong comment?
I think he did not. Because the guy did get kicked from tournament rather than people simply saying he is a shitty person.
oh it seemed like a non sequitur to me.
in the real world, what you say has consequences. "freedom of speech" just means you don't go to prison for them.
TIL entering a gaming tournament is a human right
Lol

Oh Destiny, never change. Also never visit /r/destiny because its perfect if you are racist, homophobic and everything else.
Can someone explain to me how being opposed to rape makes you an SJW? I always thought being opposed to rape meant you weren't a complete cunt...
The main problem is the hypocrisy with those reactions.
A lot of people were cheering when PartinG (a Korean) said he was going to rape Avilo (a somewhat controverse/disliked) community figure or when MC (also Korean) said he was going to rape his opponent.
Nobody really gave a shit as the consens was "oh they are not native English speakers, rape probably means something different to them".
Kas (a Ukraininan with minimal English skills) does it on twitter to Maddelisk and nobody is going "rape means probably something else in his language".
Kas apologized to Maddelisk and deleted his tweet and never fought his disqualifiquation because he realized he said something inappropriate.
Everybody is telling Maddelisk on twitter how beautiful and strong she is to stand up to all the hate and oppression she gets from the male community. Nobody stood up for MC's opponent and for Avilo.
That looks like it's ok to joke about rape once it's a man, but not if it's a girl.
No one in there is supporting rape. There are idiots saying rape jokes are completely fine, but no one is saying actual rape is.
Yeah. I'm not defending their position but they are making the distinction that rape jokes are fine within this context with reversed genders so it should be fine with anyone. I obviously don't take the same position based on my response to /u/doyouevenlifebro but there's no need to conflate their position with condoning rape.
Indeed. In this case we can call them assholes without having to resort to hyperbole to excuse our opinions.
I feel like I should provide a bit of context.
/r/stracraft seems to be a bit lost. In the past rape jokes and even threats of genital mutilation were exchanged numerous times and no disciplinary action was ever taken.
A female player gets mentioned in a rape joke; the player who made the joke gets disqualified and shamed on twitter. The female player thanks everyone for their support.
Destiny here is pointing out a double standard where women get special treatment. He is suggesting that if you value your public image, then you should treat women like little children, to avoid any possible controversy.
Think of this what you will.
That is assuming that only women are offended by rape jokes, which is not true.
Blame it on those who got upset, not on all women and telling people to treat them like children (that's some TRP shit).
Public outcry happens randomly, let's not all forget how Destiny wasn't allowed to cast games in the past or how he was kicked off teams due to public outcry. While others were able to stay on teams for almost the same level of bull shit.
It's public outcry, which can be random. Telling people to treat women like children is some fucking red pill misogynistic shit.
>Public outcry happens randomly,
lets not kid ourself here. This ONLY happened because the rape joke recipe happened to be a woman.
Let's not kid ourselves, many players have said a ton of shit to other players. Very few ever have actions taken against them.
And guess what, the ones who have been banned haven't always been because it was against a woman!
Oh noes, does that blow your mind... Go away troll. This time it happened to be a woman that it happened against.
Did Destiny get kicked off a team because he said shit to a woman? Did he get banned from casting games because he said shit to a woman? No, he didn't. So, guess it's not always a woman's fault that it happens. Maybe you should rethink your theory.
What a huge fucking surprise that it's destiny being an utter piece of shit and the majority of /r/starcraft supporting his moronic views on espousing homophobia, racism, and now rape and misogyny in "professional" e-sports.
He is such a disgusting person, and he gets nothing but fellatio and back massages from most of that community. Every couple of months like clockwork he does or says something utterly, irredeemably shitty and gets away with it, yells at anyone who calls him out, and has total support and backup from his fans. And he never changes, never learns, never tries to become a better person. It's one of the most egregious examples of misguided hero worship in any internet/gaming community I've seen.
lol, here he comes with the fanboys - so predictable. Guy is the epitome of dishes it out, can't take a bite.
It's awfully bridgey in here tonight. Probably has something to do with Destiny coming by to defend what's left of his honour/rant incomprehensibly.
[deleted]
He's at -4 right now from what I see, and was swinging back and forth pretty wildly before - it's more about vote swings than specific vote count. Although vote count certainly matters when you consider the fact that all of the discussion in this thread is at the bottom.
Yea at first glance something looked decidedly unusual for an SRD thread with ~30 comments. Not gonna lie though, love the added butter whenever the subject of the drama comes to defend their honor
That's pretty funny, considering this is SRD.

It hasnt even been a week since his last bout of verbal diarrhea, in this case!
Yeah, an absolutely disgusting person. The disagreements I've had on language in the past definitely over-rule every single positive thing I've ever done, like raising $32,000 for charity with Sheth, hosting a tournament, and pushed to finish funding Gameheart, the observer interface used by Gameheart.
Yes, any positive thing I've done is completely and totally destroyed based on the fact that I disagreed with how language could be used online. Not over whether or not I was actually sexist or homophobic or bigoted, no, just that I used certain words or language.
>he gets nothing but fellatio and back massages from most of that community.
Ah yes, there have never, ever been threads where I've been downvoted into oblivion, it's just complete and total support, throughout the entire history of my involvement in Starcraft. If I ever have doubts, I can go back to my own subreddit where I will also never, ever get downvoted, right?!
>Every couple of months like clockwork he does or says something utterly, irredeemably shitty and gets away with it
Yeah, that's true, too. There have never, been consequences to any of my actions, never. Not a single one I can think of.
>And he never changes, never learns, never tries to become a better person.
Nope, never, not a single time. I can't think of a single time where I've changed my position on a topic, not ever, nope.
All sarcasm aside, your post is a great example of why the opposition to so many arguments are never resolved in a reasonable fashion. Instead of every trying to have a rational argument with a person, it always boils down to "How can I absolutely demonize every single aspect of this person? I am only capable of seeing people in 1 dimensional, and if this person holds a belief I'm against, then they are absolutely a horrible, terrible person in every single aspect and regard of their entire life! Just to prove it, here's something I'm linking that you said 4 years ago in a Youtube video!"
Not that I expect anything I say to change your mind, though. Carry on, brave redditor, carry on.
How often do you want to bring that one charity event up whenever someone questions you? Seems like you only did the event to use it as an everlasting shield for the future.
Didn't you:
If the answer is 'yes' to all of the above, you are probably a piece of shit.
Hey now. He doesn't just call people gooks, niggers, and faggots. He also calls them autistic retards and tells them "kill yourself". Pretty much every time he loses a game actually.
>Nope, never, not a single time. I can't think of a single time where I've changed my position on a topic, not ever, nope.
I like how you pull this out but the mere existence of this thread is proof you don't actually believe in it.
I wish people would stop using charity and accomplishments as an excuse for their shitty behavior. Yes you can be good at what you do and earn due praise and loyalty for it, but at the same time you could also be disliked for the personality you present to the public.
Anyone wanting to use Charity to defend their shitty behaviour should remember Jimmy Savile. I mean the guy was praised for his charity work when he was alive but that doesn't excuse the shitty sexual crimes he's been accused of when their victims came forward after his death.
without rape threats, how could I possibly do charity work? Gotta keep balance in the force, yall. /s
He never made any rape threats.
Downvotes for being honest and truthful. He did actually never make any rape threats, the cowardly downvoters want to supply any actual evidence?
People like pointing to charity because it provides an objective metric that people can whip out to say "I am this much more dollars gooder than you".
This isn't an excuse for the "shitty behavior" it was a response to the "disgusting person" sentiment. People are more than just good or bad, and being a person is a big nuanced thing.
Destiny saying that all the positive things he has done should weigh into your assessment of him being a "disgusting person" or not is not the same as your portrayal of "if you do good things that's not an excuse for shitty behavior".
Just because you raised money for charity doesn't mean you can't be a shitty person. And using your contributions to charity to cover up your shittyness is also shitty.
What Destiny is saying is childish and pathetic, as usual. Back up what you're saying now, currently. Don't fall back on the whole Oh but I did charity work!
He is doing what he always does, drum up drama so he can try to remain relevant even though he isn't relevant. And only the immature kids actually think he is of any importance or intelligent.
> Just because you raised money for charity doesn't mean you can't be a shitty person.
You just demonstrated you didn't understand it again.
I don't think Destiny is a shitty person, he's a normal person who makes stupid mistakes sometimes, and other times does good work and helps people, and does what he likes doing.
The place where I work there are guys that aren't the best father/mother they could be, or aren't the best friend they could be, or aren't the best family member they could be, but they still have some redeeming qualities. I really hate that the public figures get all the attention and scrutiny, and their criticizers don't. And I know that is precisely because they are public figures, but if 99% of their detractors were in the public spotlight, they would fuck up and do something someone found reprehensible.
I wouldn't make the same mistakes Destiny has, but I've made my own mistakes. As long as he apologizes (Kas apologized btw) or changes his mind (Destiny changed his mind on offensive speech), then whatever.
>He is doing what he always does, drum up drama so he can try to remain relevant even though he isn't relevant.
There is definitely some truth to this though that's for sure. His job is marketing himself, so it should be obvious this is why he chimed in with a submission on it.
In gonna keep using the metric of "judge people by the way they treat people they can't get anything out of" metric, and he's a fucker by that one
That's fair. I'm not saying anything as abhorrent as people downvoting me are interpreting.
I think everyone knows exactly what you're saying, they just all think it's bullshit.
man this shit sounds like the guy who goes back to a job or ex-girlfriend or group of friends and is like "let me explain rationally how all my childish shitbrain behavior that resulted in you telling me to fuck off, shouldn't do that," and then everyone is just like please, please just move on because there are plenty of buttmufflers out there who would love to put up with your shit, it just isnt us, and he's like "yeah i knew you'd say that, just like the ignorant people you always were," and then everyone is just waiting for him to leave because you know saying anything else will just get you more wild-eyed bombastic rants.
There's no excuse for someone who's been in the public eye as much as you have and had as much opportunity for growth as you have to still behave like this. You're just making excuses for your poor behaviour. Again.
What do you expect? He's an epic man-child.
just like your thoughts on athene, if you give a lot of money to people and are a charitable person, it doesn't stop you from being a piece of shit.
This is the most pathetic thing I've seen in a while.
> yells at anyone who calls him out
at least you're true to form, as usual, captain google alert
Also? Your "rational argument" with the person calling you out was simple deflection. As usual.
Your friends must hate you.
Keep it up, surely senpai will notice you!
I just agree with him, bud. That is all. I'm sorry that you are a very angry white knight.
Did this guy seriously come here to defend the honor of a stranger and then call another person "white knight"? How is such a lack of self awareness even possible?
Where did I defend him? I never defended him. I simply said to the one guy his friends must hate him. Then I said I agree'd with Destiny. Gr8 B8 M8.
Oh, of course. You didn't defend him, you just showed up here to say you agree with him and insult someone who said something mean about him. My mistake.

white knight literally doesnt mean anything anymore
Anybody who thinks Destiny is an asshole is apparently a white knight.
Is being a white knight a bad thing now?
After all, we've got some rad armor, wicked weapons and, from time to time, gets to slay the occasional troll. Sounds like a good deal, no?
I main a paladin in wow, perma white knight status here.
Sorry to tell you this but most human beings with a brain can comprehend things. I feel bad for you and how delusional you are.
> rational thinking
#
> unironically calling someone a white knight
Pick one
Oh, bless your heart.
Go in another SRD thread, any thread, and say a mean thing about a girl.
> Your best bet is to treat women like little children, @cScKas. No bad words, no mean comments, nothing you wouldn't say to a 3-6 year old
Is pretty good advice if your primary concern is to keep from offending the professional umbrage takers.
Whether or not you like him, can you explain how he's wrong in his comment about SJWs react to how people treat women?
No. The people of /r/starcraft are trying to reconsile that they are ok with players like Parting saying that they will rape Avilo and MC saying that he will rape someone on stage.
Clearly, rather than saying that we shouldn't condone that conduct either, we should tell female players should just deal with it since they wanted to be treated equally. /s
I also have some issues with how we infantilize Korean players but that's a separate topic.
P.S. It should be noted that there were a significant number of people (who were also upvoted) saying that they weren't comfortable with Parting sniping Avilo to harass him and that the treatment of the community toward Avilo has long passed that of collective bullying.
Only if you can explain how it's possible to not see the middle-ground between rape threats and treating all women like toddlers.
You understand that he and we are insulting the SJWs and not the women, right?
Do you know who Stephano is?
Parting and MC said they were going to rape male players and nobody got DQd.
He's only guilty of treating a woman like he'd treat a man. Which is the gravest sin in SJW eyes.
I followed SC2 until HotS, so I'm well aware how much of a dillweed Stephano is. I don't remember the MC incident, but his English was kinda awful, so I'm willing to give him a bit more leeway.
Anyway, they're guilty of being major assholes, and you can't blame "SJWs" for their teams and tournament organizers failing to discipline them properly.
To an extent.
I think the decision to remove the pro player was correct; an organization doesn't want that kind of language associated with what they want to be a professional broadcast. It is absolutely within their right to do as much, and I kind of agree with their choice.
But I also think Maddelisk took things too far. She's not in danger, and generating this public outcry speaks to the notion of umbrage taking being a destructive force. Things could have been handled privately and this would have all been avoided, and likely achieve the same result of Kas being disqualified.
Destiny is not wrong that to save your reputation as being branded a misogynist rapist pig you can't say anything remotely offensive and have to bleach your speech of all personality.
Overall though, people are far too sensitive and Twitter is the worst thing to happen to communication and discourse since texting.
> Destiny is not wrong that to save your reputation as being branded a misogynist rapist pig you can't say anything remotely offensive and have to bleach your speech of all personality.
Not making rape jokes = bleaching speech of all personality, apparently.
Oh yeah I totally laughed at what Kas said LOLRAPE. SO FUNNY.
It wasn't a joke, but it wasn't a legit threat. It was a crude colloquialism, used by someone who speaks English as a second language, who lost control of their personal filter, who was trying to shittalk about their opponent, and trying to drum up excitement for their match.
>Destiny is not wrong that to save your reputation as being branded a misogynist rapist pig you can't say anything remotely offensive and have to bleach your speech of all personality.
That's not true at all. Look to stand-up, and you'll find that the most incendiary comedians are the ones who are socially progressive. Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Louis CK (his fans get a lot more shit than he does), and Stewart Lee are all examples of comedians with unique voices who never side-stepped controversial subjects, yet the people they agitate tend to be of the conservative variety -- the kind of people who complain about political correctness -- not SJWs or progressives or feminists or whatever you want to call them.
If not making rape threats makes your entire personality disappear, you didn't have much of a personality to begin with.
sigh
Glad we're up to date on the opinion of Steven Bonnel II, noted sexual predator, on women and feminism.

Destiny needs to say he'll rape Scarlett... that'll confuse the SJWs for sure!
What's there to defend? It is perfectly within his rights.
If your defense consists entirely of 'It's not illegal for me to do this,' what you're doing is probably shitty.
Like gay sex?
That was so stupid I can't even tell what point you're trying to make. How bad does your mind-diarrhea have to be before it shits that out?
coincidentally, you can be an asshole and still not be doing anything illegal.
