So is there any difference between /r/askmen and /r/askTRP?
Yeah; /r/askmen doesn't hate women, has plenty of female users who contribute and are upvoted/positively received, plus a female mod.
Also SRD's very own /u/TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK is a mod of AM as well, so I think the sub is in good hands.
> Yeah; /r/askmen doesn't hate women
That seems to be debatable from thread to thread.
Its selection bias. Only the bad things from r/AskMen gets posted here because such is the nature of SRD.
r/AskMen usually down votes the usual MRA/TRP rederick but stuff like this thread happens occasionally.
>That seems to be debatable from thread to thread.
You only really see threads like these when they get linked here. I browse AM every day, and trust me; it does not get like that very often at all. They're usually pretty chill, but there are a couple regulars with some outdated views on masculinity who like to stir the pot.
Generally, /r/askmen doesn't hate women any more than /r/askwomen hates men.
Yeah, there's like one or two terpers that post regularly tops, and they generally aren't upvoted. /r/OneY has the same number, and nobody accuses it of hating women.
> has plenty of female users who contribute
See: /r/redpillwomen
So the fact that /r/redpillwomen exists means /r/askmen is literally TRP? Seriously? You're judging an entire subreddit based on this one thread. Try actually reading more than what's posted in SRD. You'll see it's actually a pretty nice sub.
No, it just means that having a few female contributors doesn't mean it isn't a misogynistic shithole. Not only men were against women's suffrage, you know.
But it's not a misogynistic shithole at all. You'd know that if you actually bothered to browse it, instead of judging the entire place based on this one thread.
From one of the top voted threads this month. Bonus "no, it's the anti-gamergaters who are harassing people!" further down.
Can't say it does anything to make me want to change my mind.
No, they're saying that anti-GGers are guilty of harassing and doxxing people as well. I don't think I saw anybody in there saying "Gamergaters are the real victims here!" which WOULD be fucking stupid, but STILL not representative of the entire sub.
To be honest, it would not surprise me if most of the people in that sub were sockpuppets.
spelling, mostly
And terminology. /r/AskMen is much easier to understand. "Don't date women seriously because they'll either purposely get pregnant, take all your money, or accuse you of rape." vs. "Spin plates but don't DLV by putting the pussy on a pedestal, or it'll spermjack you, divorce rape you, or hamster itself into thinking you're too alpha."
The sub really isn't all that bad in all. They just have an annoying number of uberMRA's.
