The fact they defend him speaks volumes for their side of the debate.

That both sides are filled with petulant children with a lack of perspective and a dire need for personal identity through some holy cause?

Yes. But if you haven't noticed one sides douches are getting the lions share of the negative spotlight. This (and the other two posts from today linking to the same thread) is seriously the only post I have seen on SRD that have pointed out anti GG indiocy. There is tons of it out there, but this place is a bit of an anti GG echo chamber.

Fortunately, you guys are here brigading so we can see both sides are guilty of idiocy.

Yeah because nobody who supports GG would ever subscribe to SRD.

well there's plenty, they're just downvoted and circlejerking in SRDD about how we're all literally SRSers because we're not whining about those two women everyones mad about.

But yes, you and I both know that SRD is decidedly not pro-GG on the whole. Pretty much any community that isn't mostly MRAs or teenagers is not pro-GG in the slightest.

Your comment is exactly why people go to SRDD to complain. There's no good faith here and there's no attempt to actually respond to opponents' arguments. It's just a race to come up with the most easily-digestible strawman so you can dismiss them without actually arguing against them.

>Your comment is exactly why people go to SRDD to complain.

No it isn't. They go there because SRD isn't tolerant of MRA/SRSsucks opinions as much any more. It seems to be just a hangout for people from TPS. Hell, even the mods promote their own drama sub in their flairs. It's just SRSsucks but pointed towards SRD.

>There's no good faith here and there's no attempt to actually respond to opponents' arguments.

This isn't a debating sub. There is plenty of good faith for legitimate arguments. simiarly I won't legitimately argue with you about the moon landing being fake.

>It's just a race to come up with the most easily-digestible strawman so you can dismiss them without actually arguing against them.

Your post has nothing to do with mine really and apparently I'm the one making a strawman. Personally I'm just pointing out the weirdness of these threads. I mean, where do you guys come from? do you just search for GG threads on SRD all day? This thing has like 15 upvotes and hundreds of comments, mostly upvoted pro-GG whining about feminism and SRD.

Let me take them time to point out all the different straw arguments in your post:

>they're just downvoted and circlejerking in SRDD

I've been in the SRDD threads and there's far less circlejerking there than here. The SRD threads are filled with one-liners about how video games are unimportant and all gamergaters are misogynist. At most the SRDD threads whine about the circlejerking here.

>about how we're all literally SRSers

The SRS comparison mainly comes from the similarity in comments. It's not a discussion, it's a point-and-laugh party where you demonize the opponent in as few letters as possible while maintaining an air of sassy irreverence.

>because we're not whining about those two women everyones mad about.

It's a lot more than those two women. Some of the largest targets of GG's ire have been Devin Faraci and Jonathan McIntosh, and there are many more people than just these in the discussion, often with someone new making an outrageous statement every few days.

>Pretty much any community that isn't mostly MRAs or teenagers is not pro-GG in the slightest.

This bit is just you projecting your own opinions onto the rest of the population. Personally, my impression is that people more involved in gaming (and gamers are often teenagers) are more informed about GG's actual points and about the failings of game journalists in the past. So they're more likely to support GG.

K. I disagree. That's not a strawman. The SRDD threads just go SRD = SRS because they think GG is stupid, am i right?

>The SRS comparison mainly comes from the similarity in comments. It's not a discussion, it's a point-and-laugh party where you demonize the opponent in as few letters as possible while maintaining an air of sassy irreverence.

So basically you're saying any mockery = SRS. Got it. You just don't know what is going on.

>It's a lot more than those two women. Some of the largest targets of GG's ire have been Devin Faraci and Jonathan McIntosh, and there are many more people than just these in the discussion, often with someone new making an outrageous statement every few days.

Okay, those are definitely things that occured later on in the GG saga, which started because someone slept with somebody who didn't give them a good review. Also Anita is a bitch and that effects journalism in gaming because ....? Basically its just MRAs over there, look at the mod list.

I'm sorry, GGers are largely MRAs and largely young male gamers. I'm 25, game most days, and couldn't be less offended by the idea that gaming has sexism problems.

Honestly. Look at the media, look at all coverage. Aside from MRA-dominated subs like SRDD and KIA, it's pretty clear that the majority of people scoff and laugh when they think about gamers claiming they're being oppressed by the evil feminists.
