BTW: I've already reported this thread to the admins over brigading. If you piss in the popcorn, you will probably be shadowbanned.
EDIT: holy shit, le brigade face?

Reddit is very pro-gun.
Yep, I've been on SRD before for arguing against guns (not even for total banning, just for more checks and balances).
That's because it's an issue that crosses political spectrum. Despite what preconception you may have(From the NRA or from MAIG), there are a lot of left pro-gunners and a lot of right anti-gunners.
And it's funny, even among the pro-gunners there are people who disagrees with how much regulation there should be.
I'm of the opinion that if you are anti-gun you should just advocate for total banning for everyone though, and you'd understand that if you know how a gun functions. I have a lot of respect for people that advocate total bans, such as a total disarmament of everyone including police, at least they have principle.
I don't like to force my opinion on people, so I think its best to give out all the actual dry technical and law related information and let people decide for themselves which side they want to be.
Givin it's maturity levels are you suprised?

Mr. Miculek's responses were pretty civil. But, this is reddit so of course it goes to shit quick.
>I've already reported this thread to the admins over brigading.
Who is brigading?
Jerry had posted in /r/guns and /r/firearms and some users had talked about it.
Example:
http://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/1umv1c/jerrymiculekhereprofessionalshooterandhost/
/r/GunsAreCool
Where's the guns are cool brigade? I don't see any of that lot in there and the progun people have comments way in the positives. It looks more like a standard gun thread to me. Lots of r/guns and r/progun people upvoting each other and anyone a little off message getting slammed.
There is no link from GrC there - there are also zero GrCers in that thread. All I see are pro-gun opinions being upvoted for the most part.
I commented in it. Tried to explain to someone that "hoplophobe" was an invented term with no medical standing. Got downvoted immediately.
Ah, I see. You have been downvoted below viewing thresholds by a torrent of rural gun owners.
So David-me has an interesting definition of a /r/gunsarecool brigade, does he not? No link from GrC, virtually no one from GrC in there, no upvotes from GrC, yet the thread reads like a woozy fuck fantasy dreamed up by a high school aged Wayne LaPierre.
It's Saturday night, I'm thinking David-me must be high or drunk.
Or starting drama by talking shit.
>"hoplophobe" was an invented term with no medical standing.
That's nice.
Nice that someone made a word up and some gullible people took it seriously?
I guess I'm just unclear as to why people oppose the term "hoplophobe".
Because its not a real phobia. Its an invention of somebodies and an irrelevance.
That doesn't make any sense. That argument could be used against any phobia.
so /u/townsley might catch the ban hammer from this one.
lol.no.
You cant piss in an IAMA.
derp. good point.
Don't be so sure.
I think gunnit getting accused of brigading this thread is like /r/trees being accused of brigading a Snoop AMA or /r/fitness and an Arnold ama.
David-me is definitely incorrect, you are correct.
Because of pooled brigading, comment flooding, direct linking and thousands of downvotes on an AMA by Michael Moore, the sub changed its rules a day later to limit comment flooding by rural gun owners. There were over 5,000 comments and at least a thousand downvotes.

My screen just lit up bright red from all RES tags in that thread. Every single user had either racist, conspiratard, or even less complementary descriptors.
Well, not while it's active I'd think. The whole point is to create discourse.
Well, it's really hard to determine when it's only nine hours into an IAMA if someone is pissing or not. There are a few tricks, but otherwise it's pretty hard.
that's wishfully thinking IMO. c Also /r/ progun has a already ban evading mod themselves
Eh, i'm not in either camp. I just know this is townsley's cup of tea.
I don't see much GrC presence in there. I do see a lot of /r/progun members though, and votes heavily in their favour. Any opinion counter to "guns are good" is in the negatives.
>I don't see much GrC presence in there.
Can't help that there are literally 12 active subscribers of your sub. But, we do know you were posting there.
>I do see a lot of /r/progun[1] members though, and votes heavily in their favour. Any opinion counter to "guns are good" is in the negatives.
And your point is? The man publicized his IAmA on /r/guns and /r/progun earlier this week, and it was the only top post not mocking /r/gunsarecool's investigative "reporting."
Did you not expect them to show up, or one of the possibly 10 million gun owners on reddit? (very conservative estimate)
Where did I say I hadn't posted in that thread Yankee. Its available for all to see that I have. Kudos for your super sleuthing skills though.
Hey pondlife, I hear there are people selling computers on /r/redditbay that can be used to hack government databases or something, don't you have some hack journalists to inform?
You so jelly :D
I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Do you want me to illegally access government information for you? Why would you ask me to do that? Do you have some McVeigh style plans you need info for? I want no part of your dastardly plans you beast.

Oh noes, that /u/yankeequebec does something completely legal, better alert the presses! I'm sure that will go over as well as your exposé this week did!
LOL, you're a riot townsley. I literally burst out laughing at some of your antics.
didn't mean to imply that
really? I see no calls for downvotes on either side of the debate there and on their subreddits
Brigading does not mean calls or downvotes.
I see. IMO that is nothing considering what some of the gun boards have done to other subreddits that even post a gun article in support of gun regulations. Recently /r/liberal, /r/progressive and another subreddit has been attacked by thought police minded people like Gun_Defender who was Shadow banned under the name LogicalWhiteKnight
Thought police? What the hell are you on, please tell me because I want some.
Ive been a contributor to /r/liberal and /r/progressive for long time. Just because reddit is pro gun doesnt mean there are brigades. My shadowban isnt relevant. Townsley is on at least his third username himself... and he has committed far worse offenses than what I was shadowbanned for. Even he said he was against the admin action on that one, I crossposted just a couple of threads to a brand new 3 day old subreddit with 4 subscribers... there are entire subreddits dedicated to crossposts that dont get banned. It was ridiculous.
There is no brigading, we have strict anti brigading rules in /r/progun, and ive never crossposted anything without the np link on this account.
You do seem pretty authoritarian the way you push your views all over reddit. You turn up anywhere guns are mentioned, from /r/France to /r/progressive telling people what to think.
His username doesn't exactly sound unbiased.
About as neutral as a non-neutral thing.
that's why I was calling him a form of thought police. It's his behavior as you just described that I made that assertion.
I didn't know he was /u/LogicalWhiteKnight. Same behavior.
I counter townsley's bullshit with facts anywhere he and his minions happen to go. And I really am of partial french heritage, speak french, and have been to france multiple times. Im also a liberal progressive.
>Im also a liberal progressive.
And I'm a saltfish pattie
That rings hollow, but okay. I don't care enough to get into a conversation about it with you.
really? what have you contributed there besides echoing NRA talking points? admit it everywhere you go out side the Gun board bubble, you cause drama.
You've called for brigades. You got /r/progun to brigade /r/unitedkingdom once yourself, and allowed a /r/progun user to organize a brigade of /r/unitedkingdom on another occasion. All because you can't bear people having views and opinions you can't cope with.
Given how much he's led brigades on both this account and his old, I'm surprised he's not IP banned by this point. He's a repeat offender that shows no sign of stopping.
From all the years I've been on reddit the one thing that has remained constant is the old saying "The Admins move in mysterious ways".
IP bans are rare, but swung like an ax, with the sweet melody of justice singing from sharpened steel.
Ehhhh, I'm seeing posts on both sides of the fence with crazy vote totals. I don't believe that it's just GAC.
I see the "pro" opinions far more supported and upvoted than any "anti" opinion and a very big presence of progun/gun people. I honestly don't see a "GrC brigade" at all.
Well he is a regular poster on /r/guns.
Who?
Jerry. He posts vids a couple times a week.
