That post was mean spirited and completely unfunny, so it makes sense that /r/funny would give it 1,700+ upvotes.
Gotta knock 'em down a notch with the mean spirited memes. I remember I saw a meme in AA that's title was something like "Listen up ladies" or truth and something.
>Just because your boobs are big
>Doesn't mean that they are good boobs
There is a reason why there are so many memes that only exist to shit on woman, and why the "good girl" memes are usually about woman serving men in some way.
Good Girl Gina
Does the sex with me and only me but respects my desire to chase others
Scumbag Susan
Does the sex with others who aren't me
That album of advice animal memes as MS paint drawings always cracks me up. The Scumbag Stacey one is by far the best.
Check out /r/coaxedintoasnafu (though it went pretty far toward self-parody and insanity from that).
I'm sure a "Just because your dick is big/ Doesn't mean it's a good dick" would be considered highly offensive and incorrect over there.
Well, that's because there is such a thing as too much dick.
don't be a misandrist. clearly there's no such thing as too much dick, but there is such a thing as too little vagina.
Vagina brings life. Vagina rules all life. Vagina is always right.
classic matriarchy.
listen, buddy. I'm not just some redpiller that willingly oppresses himself by valuing myself solely on my ability to get laid. I'm also an atheist.
Well obviously! Since all major religions have a solely female deity that would totes not fuck you! And you believe that all females would fuck you. The only only logical conclusion is there are no deities!
weed
coke
They'd probably call it misandry.
I, for one, agree that big dicks are not good dicks. maybe that's because it's hard to enjoy porn when the equivalent of a summer sausage is pounding a woman and it can't even go all the way in. maybe that's because it's hard to enjoy porn if you can't get into it because the dick on screen is easily three times the size of your own in length, girth, and veins.
But that's also true about boobs. Big boobs are not necessarily good boobs, and small boobs are not necessarily bad boobs. Either statement is really mean, though, because it's just a random, uncalled for insult. Hey, girl, you thought you had a nice rack just because you wear a DD? It might be ugly anyway. OPEN YOUR EYES, SHEEPLE.
Maybe not--there would be enough people with below-average penises (let alone those who think they have below average penises) who consider it validating that it might even itself out.
"Motion of the ocean" type comments get upvoted all the time (and rightfully so, I believe, as a vagina owner who doesn't have enough experience to really say.) The difference here would be that this one is completely uncalled for, like the boobs comment--it isn't a response to "my boobs are ugly because they're small" or "I have big tits and you bitches are inferior," it's just a meme coming out of the blue. It's unwarranted, and that makes it mean. But given how much hate /r/bigdickproblems gets, I wouldn't guarantee downvotes.
...am I bad for agreeing that sometimes big boobs don't look attractive to me? I mean, I'm not trying to shame anyone and really the only big boobs that I make this statement of opinion about are boobs within the realm of pornography. I know the stereotype is that men view boobs as "bigger is better" but there are indeed times when larger ones just don't appeal to me due to their shape or whatever.
and, again, this is all within the realm of porn. I don't seen enough naked boobs in real life to even attempt to shame anyone, and even if I did I'd be too busy enjoying the fact that boobs were in front of me to feel like making a value judgement.
I'm given that liberty within the realm of porn because, y'know, I'm not using it as an insult, these ladies will never ever know me, and the whole point of porn is to engorge yourself on whatever kink/look/style/etc is the most attractive to you.
but, and I can't stress this enough, I cannot envision a time in my life in which I will ever tell a woman her big boobs are not good boobs because, again, I'm hella thirsty, it's been dry here for seven years, and also boobs are an awesome part of a complete breakfast no matter what they look like.
so...y'know...
you wrote 234 words about the type of tits that you like to jack off to and how you haven't fucked in 7 years...
did you actually count the words? I can never judge how many words are in a paragraph or overall space. trouble with big numbers in general when trying to gauge or guesstimate things.
and yeah, that's what I do. though I don't think my exposition is a cause in the general thirsty-ness. has more to do with a battle with mental illness and a proclivity for ending up hopelessly attracted to someone already in a relationship or otherwise in a situation in which there is no feasible way we could be together.
also, I had an energy drink a bit ago so that could be why I'm typing up so much stuff. and because my dog is curled up against me which always makes me feel warm and happy, which leads to me typing a bunch of stuff even when I'm fully aware like right now exactly as I'm typing these very letters and characters and words that both you and I are reading (although at different moments in time) that I should just stop talking.
>did you actually count the words?
I copied it into Office and got 230 words, my guess is /u/cube-abuser did something similar.
How did you lose 4 words?!
I don't really think that opinion quite needed four paragraphs to express, but that's cool, you do you.
> you do you.
I generally do, which I think was the key point I was trying to get across, and probably why I get so lonely.
I think it's defensible to think "not all big boobs look good to me", but I think the post you're responding to was about making an AA indicating that women are probably over-confident about their big boobs, which is shitty.
yeah and somehow people are taking offense to what I said for whatever reason. SRD is a finicky bitch sometimes because a couple people read what they want to read and down vote and the rest follow along just because.
I'm a woman with very large breasts. VERY large breasts. It happens pretty damn often that someone has to mention that large breasts are really NOT attractive, guys, really gross and saggy! It's uncalled for, it's not as revolutionary a statement as you think it is, and it happens a lot of the time.
Yes, you're allowed to prefer small breasts and/or think large ones are gross.
Yes, I'm allowed to be annoyed that people think this an acceptable thing to just up and announce.
I think people are believing i said something I'm not.
I'd never tell a woman i thought her boobs were unattractive. because I love boobs.
but, when porn, I'm going to choose the boobs I like most at that point in time.
and, again, that has nothing to do with boobs in real life. I'm not going to announce to a woman that I don't like her boobs. because I haven't yet met a boob I haven't liked. because boobs.
I'm not attacking anyone. I'm not saying your boobs or anyone else's boobs are bad boobs.
I'm saying that, solely within the context of my alone time at night (and sometimes afternoon if it's really boring), I choose certain kinds of boobs because everyone who watches porn chooses whatever porn most appeals to them as porn and only as porn.
That's the problem with these kinds of things. Dislike of something for some reason means that it becomes something we hate and have to put down, instead of going, eh I don't enjoy this, but that's cool if you do.
I prefer small breasts and a nice butt but yeah, I'm not gonna pass judgement on women with large breasts.
It's also just a picture of an ordinary object with a hilaaarious headline, so it also belongs in /r/funny.
I could see one of my younger brother's friends posting that.
/r/im14andthisisfunny
He turned 14 recently too. I'll ask him if it's funny.
pls report back
I'm pretty sure the maturity of that sub has surpassed that of /r/funny.

Holy shit, who knew acne was the line for Reddit. I've seen less controversy over racism and misogynist jokes.
I understand if the joke hit too close to home for you to find it funny but mean? Really?
Of course these whiners are the same people who make fun of Nikki Minaj's fake ass or the fact that Iggy Azalea looks like white chicks.
I really don't agree. A joke is only meanspirited if its directed at a particular person or if the joke itself is discriminatory. A joke at the expense of something as broadly experienced as having acne can't be considered offensive. It's like saying jokes about death, impotence or male pattern baldness are off limits because they're 'meanspirited'. Some people are saying 'insecurity' but really it's more about poking fun at vanity.
Acne is just a part of life, get used to it.
You don't understand how "yo, I see you have bad skin, even though you're trying really hard to cover it up and be presentable" is hurtful?
It's insulting twice: (a) you have bad skin and (b) you suck at covering it up.
> A joke at the expense of something as broadly experienced as being black can't be considered offensive.
Oh, doesn't sound so good now does it? Neither can be controlled by the person affected. 2 seconds of Google says that 10-20% of adolescents have moderate to severe acne, so it's not as broad as you might think. Impotence and male pattern baldness are OK comparisons, except that I think we can all agree that teenagers generally are (a lot) less emotionally stable than the middle age men who have to deal with impotence and male pattern baldness.
Also where is the line between 'joke' and straight up insult? Maybe it's just because it's on /r/funny but I really don't see how it is funny at all.
> Impotence and male pattern baldness are OK comparisons, except that I think we can all agree that teenagers generally are (a lot) less emotionally stable than the middle age men who have to deal with impotence and male pattern baldness.
Considering that middle age men kill themselves at over double the rate of teenagers, no, I won't agree to that. Beside, what kind of shitty reasoning is that? It's alright to make mean spirited comments at someone as long as they've been desensitized by decades of mean spirited comments?
Really? Because Chris Rocks's been making money off jokes about black people for twenty years.
Right, and the reason Larry the Cable Guy doesn't do any of those jokes?
Something tells me the person who posted the OP on /r/funny doesn't cover their acne up with makeup.
Oh come on, don't be daft, it's pretty obvious what dudebro was trying to get at. The fact that a certain condition can affect multiple sectors of a population does not mean that there cannot be additional social considerations that give jokes about that issue a bigoted character. It's like the innumerable "witty" jokes when the picture of a POC child comes up about the father not being in the picture. Sure, absentee fathers are not confined to one particular community, but it doesn't mean that the person making the joke was anything other than a racist shitlord banking on Reddit's collective immaturity towards real social problems.
But then invariably they will counter, but it is le funny joak, le funny joooak, DAE you are the real racist for making the connection to race and gender! I am a brogressive color-blind egaliblooob.
It's a picture of an Ice Cream. I think everyone needs to get a sense of perspective. It's not racism, you're not part of an oppressed minority, you just have a moderate skin condition. And just because guys don't wear makeup doesn't make the joke sexist. It's a little insensitive, but so are shitloads of jokes on Reddit.
>It's a little insensitive, but so are shitloads of jokes on Reddit.
this reasoning sucks, people dont have to be ok with it. they can speak up about it like the person in the post did and obviously lots of people agreed. we can look down on shitty jokes if we want to, what does it matter to you
You know what a load of teenagers always feel fucking awful about? Their appearance.
"hurr durr durr well i think its funny to make children feel shitty about themselves"
I'm a firm believer that comedy should be about anything whatsoever, nothing is off limits. That said, it's not a very funny repost, but not for "mean" reasons.
It's not funny because it's not funny. It's mean because it's mean.
Where did I disagree with you?
I said it's not funny. Yeah it's mean, but so are most jokes.
Comedy is highly subjective and different people have different opinions of what should be off limits.
Some people say Holocaust jokes should be off limits, some don't. Some say rape jokes should be off limits, some don't. Some say personal jokes should be off limits, some don't. Where do we draw the line? Who do we elect as the off limit humor counselor?
How about this, who gives a shit? Let anyone make any kind of joke they want, if you don't like it. Prop your neck up and tell them that your offended in a pretentious manner, no comedian gives a shit because no matter what joke you tell, someone is going to be offended. So suck it up. :)
EDIT: For a subreddit that loves drama, you guys are a bunch of softcocks :)
God, you have a simplistic view of comedy.
Of course no subject is off limits. But there's so much more fucking nuance than that. The intent, the construction, the point of the joke matters, not the subject. I know that's hard to wrap your simple mind around, but I'll try to explain.
Take a joke like "I saw this girl on the news who got raped. And I was like 'Oh that's awful,' and then they showed what she was wearing the night it happened, and it was slutty as hell! And when she was asked about it, she was like 'Just cause I might dress provocatively doesn't mean I want to have sex with anyone,' and I was like, 'What the fuck?' That'd be like me dressing as a police officer, trying to buy weed, and going 'Hey, don't worry, I'm dressed like a cop, but I'm not here to enforce any laws."
That's a fucking awful joke, because it pretty clearly implies that a woman might be "asking for it" by dressing a certain way.
Now take something like this. Same subject matter, but in no way do you come away with a gross idea about rape. The entire joke is predicated upon the mutual acknowledgement that rape is horrifying. Daniel's in-character reaction wouldn't be funny if that weren't the case.
As is often the case, George Carlin explains it better than anyone.
>Prop your neck up and tell them that your offended in a pretentious manner, no comedian gives a shit because no matter what joke you tell, someone is going to be offended. So suck it up. :)
I've been doing stand-up comedy for nearly four years now. Nobody who's been doing it more than six months has this attitude. Most comics are insecure as fuck and will absolutely give criticism like that some thought. You have to be flippant about it on stage because maintaining the appearance of confidence is really really important for a good show, but it's just a front.
You didn't disagree. I wasn't arguing with you.
I agree that anything can be made a joke. It's difficult to do so in a funny way, and this joke fails in that. Which leaves nothing but the mean.
Mean jokes are like shooting the moon in hearts. If you pull it off, you win; but if you can't quite do it, you're going to get slaughtered. That's how it should be.

Let's all chill, k?
sorry... :(
I'm pretty certain no one here clicks on the links anymore and just spiels anyway
That link wasn't a very good or nice thread though

I don't know, it seems like you're more upset about people saying, "This is a shitty, mean joke." If you'll notice, too, no one has said "don't make jokes." The point is, sure you can make this "joke," but people will tell you it's not very good.
It's always funny to me the people who scream, "OH MY GOD ITS JUST A JOKE CANT YOU TAKE A JOKE," can never take criticism.
>I posted this in subredditdrama but thought I'd post here too.
You literally posted this down thread in this thread. You seem really confused.
I'm not sure where people are getting the idea I said the joke shouldn't be allowed, all I said was the joke was mean spirited and not funny.
